Saturday night Hunter started licking his left hind foot obsessively about 10 pm.  When I checked the foot I saw a very angry oozing area and my first thought was a bug bite on his last trip outside shortly before.  So off to the emergency vet we went.  The vet felt it was probably a contusion, cleaned the area and treated it.  He has been fitted with a cone for 3 to 5 days to keep him from licking the area.  He has to get a peanut butter wrapped surprise twice a day for 5 day to keep possible infection away.  Having a bed-hog with a neck cone is such a joy...

How is your cone head hunter doing?  I'm sending healing rayz for him and hope all is going well.

Handle every "Situation" like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
tinkle on it and walk away.

The cone is still in place but I anticipate it coming off soon.  The foot is looking good but I am waiting for results of a culture the Vet sent off to try to determine what caused it.  Thanks for asking.
