We'd suspected for some time that my little wiggly was losing his site but these past two weeks have assured us that this is indeed so.He's still his crazy self but now he can't see.Almost 15yrs Simon has been a part of my life and as long as he is healthy and active I will love and play with him all the time.

Awww.  That's sad....but wait!  Take a note from Hallie the painting dog.  Even when you're blind, you can have a wienerful life.

Seriously, my 15 year old Bonnie is almost blind due to cataracts but her nose and tongue and tail works at tip top shape!

Bonnie sez....hey Simon, us blind doggies have lots of fun!  'Speshully when it comes to FOOOOOOOD!
Mommy to the sweetest Bon Bon!

exactly, as long as he's healthy and happy...

maybe Simon needs a seeing-eye-dog?

My Ms. Lucy is soon to be 14. Mr. Wilson just turned 12. I love em more every day and I'm quite pleased that both dogs have nice sugar frosted faces.

Hoping Simon is adjusting to his visual impairedness.  All four of mine are seniors and I know my longhaired girl, Brekke (Brek-kuh), has vision troubles.  The frosty faces are all present here and good for snuggling at any given moment.

Try to get Dee Dee Miss Hallie's Mom to talk to you Miss Hallie went blind a couple of years ago Miss Hallie still paints does most of the stuff she always does even got a Nose award for her smeller. Deedee took Miss Hallie to a Nose work classes Miss Hallie did really well.

I'm sorry to hear about Simon's eyesight.  My Clifford-Angel lived to just shy of 16.  That last year while his eyesight got progressive dimmer his nose didn't miss a dropped bite of food.
There's nothing like having a dachshund tongue up your nose at 3 a.m.

I really appreciate there are so many here who understand. Thanks to all!

Life goes on for Simon.....the weather is still nice and he gets to play outside when I come home. And during the day he has his friend Benji our 16+ Yorkie.

So true.

Btw I noticed by your signature that you must be an Anne McCaffrey fan?

Oh, I'm absolutely a McCaffrey fan!  While in Cabo San Lucas in June, I attended a "meet the dolphins" class, and noticed a dragon tat on the man next to me.  I had overheard him talking to his son, and knew he was British, so I asked if he was a McCaffrey fan.  He said his mum had read all the books, and when he was in grade school, Ms. McCaffrey had talked to his class about her books - so that makes me 2 degrees of separation, right?

My Twinkie angel  had lost most of her vision by the last few years. I lost her at 15 1/'2 years of age.  BUT  she fooled the vet who told me she had blown her heart valve when she was about 12 years old.  She was not ready to give up. In terms of her sight she had a nasty habit of not seeing the steps when she went outside in back yard, would end up hitting the sidewalk with her chin.
But there were funny moments even about that. She startled her share of vet techs.  She could just see that hand coming near her face, and of course being treat driven reached for the treat that was coming. WHEN she instead got the vet techs fingers she would almost literally spit them out, with a cranky look(I don't want that give me MY TREAT!!)  I would explain and they all laughed.  Aside from anything else she had worn down from teeth trying to bust out of kennel at home so nothing for her to bite with.

Really I have come to believe that blindness or deafness  do not bother the pups as much as it bothers the owners!!

I would agree aunty,my little wiggly has adapted quite well to his blindness. He needs a little help on occasion but for the most part is a very happy little fella!
