yes missy, Amy just finnished antibiotics for a uti. part and parcel with the problem, I did a dip stick got protein but with blood which cancel each other out, but  got 1+ glocose, took amy in and jane ran some tests. Renal and liver OK but urea just in the red zone, maybe due to "I'm not eating my special tin food" so gets meat and dried food. jane said the glu is sometimes seen with infection so she is on another course of antibiotics.
We know this is a roller coaster ride with her, we uped the prozac and that relaxed the wall of the bladder and the less said the better.
Amy is still Amy, not quite the younger munchkin, but here..........................If she would only sleep at least half the night it would be good. But we love her and till she decides she had enough we will be there.

Handle every "Situation" like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
tinkle on it and walk away.

Have you tried Cranberry capsules since most dogs will not drink Cranberry juice it keeps bacteria from adhering to the bladder walls we can buy them here in the vitamin supplement section like at walmart ,Walgreens most drugstores.
A RN nurse I use to work with her son did not like Cranberry juice he had Vanishing Bone disease very rare was paralyzed got UTI's all the time she started giving him the Cranberry capsules it helped. Rays & Hugs to Amy.

Spanish Teckels

Sorry to hear this Roberta.  The old age rollercoaster is a rough ride as we all know.  Let's hope the uti is not more serious this ti,e around and the glu levels drop as soon as the infection is cleared.
I was going to suggest cranberry products too, even the dried berries can help, papbouv got there before me.
Good luck, sleep well, let us know how you get on.
