Bastian and Rowan will have company tomorrow

Their first family is coming to visit!  I had let Natalie know about Rowan and her surgery, and before Lexi starts college and AJ starts his senior year next week, they and Jake (3 years old) and Sam (18 months) will stop in to see them.  Natalie and I have been coordinating this today - what with city streets applying some sort of renewal finish, Rowan's stitches coming out on Wednesday, and a couple other appointments, so we could get it in before school begins.  The kids don't know about it - hopefully all will be relaxed before they have dental appts. after they're here...

What a lovely thing to be doing.  Bless you all.  Don't mention dentals and have loads of fun all together.  Careful with those human pups - they are so slow on the uptake in comparison with puppy teckels.

We had a blast!  The dachsies recognized their scents - except for the little ones - and Lexi was sitting for a 12? year old boy and a 9? year old girl, so we had 6 kids and 2 adults with 4 dachsies in my living room.  I barely got everyone inside, when Brekke had already begun insisting on belly rubs - lol. We had a great visit, like the one about 2 years ago.  The older two - Lexi and AJ, were the ones having dental checkups, so they weren't bothered.  All were very impressed with Rowan's stitches, and thankful that they were not cancerous.  Natalie will be teaching 4th grade this year (has had kindergarten) and will have kiddos who are not the greatest readers, so I suggested "The 39 Clues" as a great teacher read-aloud to motivate, and the 12 and 9 year olds immediately chimed in with their approval.
