We're 200 miles north. It felt like a truck backed into our (single story) building. The safety poster in the hall came loose.

We're all okay.  We're about 100 miles north of the epicenter.  I was in the post office and we really felt it.   Another tick or two up on the Richter scale and the glass would have shattered.  It was crazy.   People went pouring into the streets.

When I got back in my car, I flipped on my police radio.  It was just going nuts until they restricted radio traffic to those units dealing directly with building evacuations or any other damage.   Phones stopped working, both landline and cell phones as calls completely overloaded the system.   It took about an hour before consistent phone service returned.

Apparently the Zs snoozed through the whole thing.

That's exactly how Chad Meyers described it on CNN.

At first I thought my blood sugar was dipping and then I looked over at my co-worker and saw her face, and then she said: "Run!" (We are only 15' from the door.) So we booked it outta there. Our other co-worker did not; but she won't be laughing when she sees the local video of the girl getting clocked.  Literally, the clock flew off the wall and hit her in the head.

Spooky--not terryfyin', but a couple of tchotchkes at home apparently danced a few inches.

In California, we use a 5.8 earthquake to stir our coffee.

We had a 4.5 aftershock last night.  I slept through that one.

I lived through earthquakes in Missouri (New Madrid fault - made the Mississippi River run backwards 10 - 24 hours and formed Reelfoot Lake in Tennessee) and the first one I was in here in CA felt like someone behind me had hit the back bumper - we have had worse ones.  I believe we are getting better news coverage /publicity over weather and earth issues such as earthquakes, so we are more aware...and then there are the prophecies in Revelation.  I am glad everyone is well and doing fine, so far.
