Ever heard of this kiind of dog dorgis

This was in the Sunday newspaper seems like Queen Elizabeth has 3 dorgis seems like the Queen s Corgi s and some one in the house hold with a female Dachshund made a litter of dorgis the Queen kept three. So much for purebreed dogs guess the Queen is into the Designer dogs too.

The Queen - and the Queen Mother before her - have always had long haired dachshunds and corgis too, often over twenty at a time, the dorgis have been around for many years in the royal family due to a couple of "accidents" along the way.  A favourite dachshund even went on honeymoon with the Queen when she was still Princess Elizabeth and married Prince Philip.  The BBC made a wonderful report some years ago about the Queen and her dogs with lots of footage of their walkies and playing in the parklands.

And to add a bit of trivia to that The Prince of Wales and his wife had Pugs, Pugs and more Pugs.  When they were auctioning off the possessions from his home you could see all the knickknacks, pillows, etc which featured Pugs.

Very true. It was Edward II when he was Prince of Wales and he was given pugs by Queen Victoria ( who preferred her dachshunds) and he then gave one to his wife who later became Queen Alexandra.  The pugs came to England from Holland along with William of Orange and the dachshunds gained much popularity along with Prince Albert after he married Victoria.

Shame no dachshunds will be going down the aisle at Westminster Abbey on Friday.

"Edward II" lived LOONG before Queen Victoria - The Prince of Wales became Edward VII when he came to the throne.

And those tarted up Pomeranian/dachshund "things" known as corgis may have better press, but we were here FIRST!

Thanks, aunty Keren, for spotting my obvious typo incompleting the Edward - no glasses and  Iphone screen too tiny for my age.....
Shame no dachsies were seen at the wedding on Friday, long and shorts are all still in royal residence but I don't remember having seen or read about any wires.

:thinik: I last heard that the Queen is letting her Herd of dachshunds, corgis and "Dorgis" thin due to attrition, as she herself is now 85 and doesn't want to leave 10 or 20 of them to be cared for in the event of her - ahem, er - flying away home, so to speak.
