The Last Grandparent

My last grandparent-grandma-went to sleep in death yesterday. She had a good long life and was a very positive force in my life. I've always felt fortunate to have grandparents so late in my own life. Grandma Shell (for Roshell) is the end of the line of Grands for me. She was 95.

I am so sorry. :( It's tough to lose family no matter how old they are we are never ready. I lost my last Grandparent in 1978 and am going through losing an Aunt right now, I know how you feel. I have you and your family and your dear Grandma in my prayers. She sounds like she was a wonderful lady!

I am so sorry for your loss. I still miss my grandparents, especially my grandmothers. My last grandmother died in 1997. Sometimes it is hard to believe it has been that long since she has been gone. I'll be thinking of you and your family.

Sandi - I am so sorry for your loss. You were blessed to have her for so long.

I never knew my dad's parents, not my mom's dad, but I had a wonderful step-grandfather. I hate that I was not able to know my grandmother as an adult - she was an awesome woman.

I know you have many wonderful memories......

thoughts are with you, you were blessed to have her for so long. I had my mums parents till mid teens, but they were not much into their grandkids, and I never knew my dad's. but would love to have known my gandpapa as he was left to bring up 5 boys, the youngest at 5yrs was my dad.

Hugs to you sorry for your loss my father's parents raised me since I was 2 months old, Grandparents are special people most of the time.
