So those are those are the words I was welcomed with when I came home yesterday.

"I can't find Bonnie.  And if she's under that pile of blankets"-on the couch "I think she might be-----dead"

Well, happily, Miss Bonnie is amongst the wiggly living.  As soon as I spoke, the mound of quilts and blankies started a joyous wiggle and out popped the Bon Bon.

Apparently the little girl upon hearing Mark come home figured to herself...."well, he ain't gonna feed me, so what's the point in getting up?"  And so she didn't.  Very unusual and Mark missed his daily greeting but was too chicken to check it out.  He really thought that she may have expired.......but was scared to look.     When I came home though, it was a different story.  "Ol' Feed Bag Mom is home.  Better roust my cute little derriere off the couch"  Yep, dachshunds don't bother unless there's something in it for THEM.
Mommy to the sweetest Bon Bon!

I could so see that.   "I'm comfy and if you're not going to feed me, I'm just going to stay here".

Years ago, I was having my condo renovated and the contractor said he saw Rudy maybe twice.  The rest of the time, he would just stay under the blanket.

"I tried marriage and children - it ended badly.
I'm doing much better with dachshunds and rabbits."

I really understand: old dawg, pile of blankets, no snoring...those of us with seniors have had this thought at least once.  Makes yer heart catch in your throat.

Ya know there IS REALLY a reason doxies are called bed bugs!!!

I think its more scarey when the blankets  or pillows(as sisters Gretel liked to do) start moving on their own and you do not realize it is your little sweetie!!  I would still like to know HOW Gretel got ON this high bed, after which since she could not pull the blankie loose, got in the pillow case under the pillow.  Which started moving as I was about to lay down!  Since trailers do sometimes get meece but what moved hadda be huge, it scared theheck outa me !!  It was little ms Twiggy Bottoms!!  the bed bug!!

I had a cat, who loved to burrow under the blankets all the way down at the foot of the bed.  Well, one night I woke up and realized Mimi had burrowed and I nudged her with my foot, but she did not move, nudged again, nothing.  So I threw the covers back and Mimi started to complain at the top of her lungs until I covered her up again.  Silly cat.

If some one ever broke in to our house I would have to tell them wait I have to try and wake up my Doberman there have been a few times I have had to shine a flashlight on him to see if he was breathing. He is a 2-3 year old dog also most Dobermans have heart problems some kill over dead.
Patches to save the day someone opens my bedroom door she turns into Cujo I really think she might bite some one if they tried to hurt me. The odd thing is if Patches barks  and raises heck Buddy never wakes up untill he is good & ready to wake up I have even tried to shake him awake hardest dog I have ever had to wake up. ?
