With your photoshop skills I thought you would think it easy! 5 layers - background (globe and greenery found on web), sophie layer, sam layer, snow layer, text layer. Lots of tweaking.

Deb got me a chromakey green backdrop - made it a lot easier to get dogs out of their own photo and into this one.

That is so cool! I just got a backdrop also but haven't had a chance to try it out yet. It's good to hear it worked well for you. I'm anxious to give it a shot.
