To Our Wiener Writing Family,

Dave and I want to say thank you from our hearts for the generousity of the Wiener Writing family who donated funds to help with and for the medical care of Earl.  The check arrived today (Friday).  We are humbled by the amount of funds that was given to us.  This will help greatly to cover the costs of Earl's medical care.

We also want to say thank you for all the prayers and rays that everyone from our Wiener Writing family sent our way.  They truly helped Earl and us to get through this.

Earl is improving everyday.  He goes back to see the vet on Monday for a recheck on his progress.  He has adapted to his new way of eating and resting upright after he eats his meal of Chicken with Gravy or Turkey with Gravy baby food.  He sits upright on my lap for 30 minutes after he finishes eating.  We are working on a stand for him to use.  He is taking all his medications twice a day like a trooper!  He has three meds he takes twice a day, and Pepcid once a day.  Everyday he is gaining strength.  He still tires easily and you know when that is the case as his walk is wobbly and he immediately sits/lays down, rests for a bit, and is ready to go again.  He is still sleeping a lot but has begun to initiate play on his own with his brothers.

A big Ditto to Barb's note!! We are so happy to hear that Earl is continuing to improve, and blessed that we could help with the bills in any way! Just knowing that he's continuing to make steps of progress is making this a more wonderful Independence Day weekend!!  :thumb:

We'll for sure be keeping the rays and prayers going for Earl and all of our puppers and hoomans in need!

I couldn't get anywhere with Paypal, so I put my check in the mail yesterday.   More prayers and rays for Earl heading north, and smoochies from my gang...

That is wonderful news Dee! I got teary reading that and thinking how LUCKY Earl is to be with you, how many people would have taken him in much less put so much into helping him be well! He is one blessed little boy. I hope you are doing OK with all this too, I know it's exhausting both physically and mentally to take care of an ailing pupper but it is so great to hear he is improving!
