He has to spend the day and half of the evening at the vet's office.  He woke up about 2 am having to go out so from 2 on, we were up making trips outside.  He was not feeling good yet he was still the primary bugger to Duggie and was playing.  I decided that he was going in to the vet's for a check........so at 7 am, I called the office and they got him in.  The doc poked and probed and he never indicated any kind of pain. Doc said I could take him home and watch him or we could do diagnostics....xrays, blood work.  I said diagnostics so we were there waiting for an hour for the results.  Good thing....xrays showed no blockages and all looked well....empty tummy but a bit of gas in his tummy.  Blood work all looked good with the exception of his fluid level....he was becoming dehydrated.  The numbers were high from what it should be.  So, Doc recommended he spend the day with him at the hospital and they are giving him fluids intervenously to get his levels back to normal.  So, I will go pick him up tonight at 7:30 pm.  Sarge and Duggie were a bit sad that I came home without Earl.......Duggie is especially sad.....So rays would be appreciated!  Thanks all!!

As noted in a post below, Earl did come home last night with the IV catheter still in his leg.  Note....my boy did not want to leave it alone...he wanted to chew it off..so it was a constant eye on him when he was awake.  We went back in this morning for a recheck....we're home.  The doc asked what we wanted to do after we discussed how he did for the night.  I could leave him there for the day today or I could monitor him at home to watch for vomiting and/or the runnies.  He did a small vomit early early this morning but it was some of his undigested food.  Considering he didn't eat until 11 pm last night and was in the x pen with no exercise, I'm not surprised nor was the doc.  The doc said that he looked at the xrays again and that there was the possibility that something was irritating his esophagus but the only way we could tell for sure was to view it with barium and we could still do a ultrasound, if he continues to show signs of problems.  He is showing no signs of feeling bad.....he is happy especially since the IV catheter was removed!  I did ask if we could remove that today because it was really starting to bug him and I think he was getting tired of me saying "no chewie"!  So he is now on antibiotics for 10 days, twice a day.  Keep those rays coming, please, that Earl is back on the road to being the little terror he is!  All is well....the brothers are back together and I'm going to go take a long nap since I got about an hour or two of sleep last night!

aaaawww, what news today?

Earl came home last night at 8 pm...he still has the IV catheter in his little leg.  We go back in this morning at 7 am for a recheck.  The doc wanted to leave it in just in case.  I hope that it can come out this morning and he can come home and not have to spend another day at the hospital.  He has been penned since last night so there is no rough housing with his brothers.  All three are upset about that.  He seems to be doing better. He ate a little late last night.  He threw up a tiny bit around 3:30 am but seems fine.  It has been an all nighter because when he is awake he wants to chew the catheter (which is all wrapped up) so I've caught very few "winks" of sleep.  I'll post again when we get back home this morning.
