OK, I have not posted for a very long time, but I am happy to announce the birth of our second child!

Christopher Ryan Coover, born May 1, 2010 1:54PM at 4 pounds, 4 ounces 16 inches long.

He was very small because he was born 8 weekd premature.

On Friday morning April 30th Michelle had severe bleeding and had to go to the hospital. They ended up rushing her by ambulance to Portland 230 miles away. The next day she had an emergency C-section.

The good news is that he is doing very well. All of his systems are functional. He is breathing on his own and is digesting food on his own.

Michelle was discharged todat from the hospital and she is still in Portland with CHristopher. James and I are here at home in Calais, we are hoping to get down to Portland this weekend to meet our newest family member.

Things lately have been very difficult. I found myself unemployed again in February and we have been barely getting by for 2 months now. We ran out of money, food and we were losing things in the house from non-payment. It has been a very stressful time, and with MIchelle only working 10 hours a week we were in serious trouble.

The early arrival of Christopher was unexpected, and I could not afford to go to POrtland to visit Michelle and the baby. I would not have been able to make it for the delivery anyway because the emergency delivery was decided on and performed almost immediately.

We are getting help and support from several great and generous peoples and organizations now, but things are still very difficult. I did get a job, which I start next week. Michelle has to come home this weekend, leaving our new baby boy behind in POrtland. She is not very happy about this, but we don't have a choice in the matter. I have to work so we can continue to have a home to live in.

Well, the bottom line is that Christopher is healthy and is doing well. He will be in Portland for another 7-8 weeks, until the time he would have been delivered normally at full term. So although it is hard right now, we have a new baby boy!

First I want to say Congratulations on your new son.  Glad to hear he is doing ok.  Second, congrats on your job.  I know how you feel.  Two years ago I was umemployed for 10 months.  But with help from family was able to keep somewhat afloat.  Third, know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.  Continued rays coming your way.

Handle every "Situation" like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
tinkle on it and walk away.
