Max has been doing this really weird teeth chattering thing for a while now.  When he thinks he is going to get food or getting his crate threat, he starts chattering his teeth.  When he first started doing it, I wasn't sure what it was, but now he does it all the time.  Does anyone else have a weiner with the chattering teeth weirdness?

Buddy not a wiener dog but he does it sometimes when excited also once really bad during the Ice Storm & the inside of the house was 47* Think boys do it more than girls, Know male intact boys will do it around females in season too.Patches has never done it that I know of.

Didn't heard anything about this chattering to doxies and my Max.  I suspect too, excite has something to do with it...

Tris shakes when he is excited but the only sound with his teeth is sometimes when he grinds them! I am not sure how he does it but now and again there's a grinding noise
Well the internet is often not a great source of reliable info but I found this little bit:
Excitement
# Dogs of all sizes and breeds will often chatter their teeth when they are very excited. This could be in anticipation of a happy event. A dog that enjoys riding in the car may chatter her teeth just before getting inside of the car. A male dog may chatter his teeth when scenting a female in heat. Dogs have also been known to chatter their teeth when in pain as perhaps a sign of fear, which is another form of excitement. (http://www.ehow.com/about_5272522_teeth-chattering-dogs.html)

Thanks Gail!  I know he gets excited about food!  I guess that is why he does it.
