Look at what Mom found......

Mom went to the fabric store yesterday to buy what she called interfacing....whatever that is! Well, while she was there and strolling through all the fabric, she found some doxie fabric and bought a bunch! She said that she has also ordered a pattern for a totebag that would be just perfect for this fabric. Now she is anxiously awaiting the arrival of the pattern so she can make the tote bag. She is getting the pattern from Quilt Patch Lane and should have it next week! And, Auntie Julia, Mom says that the totebag that she is going to make is 28 inches long (including the handles) and 18 inches wide. We just don't understand why Mom gets so excited about fabric when she has us three handsome boys who can give her kisses and keep her on her toes......silly fabric can't do that!!! We'll make sure she posts a piccie when she gets it done.....Here is the fabric that she got so excited about! Sarge, Duggie and Earl (the Juvenile Delinquent)

OMG! I so want the Fashionista Puppy fabric! I would love to make Penny a harness out of it!!!!!!!!!!

Stunning Dee, bag would be great, not to worry boys you can get to QC the bag and roll on the fabric before mum cuts it.

Dee I'm about to put a couple of quilts into the guild show, I've just found out I have to put rod pockets on the back so I've a lot of hand sewing coming up.

Kari, check at Hancock Fabrics....it's from the new spring line of M'Liss fabrics. If the stores don't carry it, you can find it online at www.hancockfabric.com.

Roberta, the boys did do some QC on the fabric as I was laying it down to take pictures. I would love to see the quilts that you are putting into the guild show. Have fun with the rod pockets....that is a bit of hand sewing!

Wow, oh, wow, oh wow! Is it going to be patchwork, like the one you posted on Facebook? WHat kind of straps or handles will it have? OH, yeah - sign me up for one - I totally love it! (Especially the pink print with dachsies in 5 colors!)

You could have just created a monster! How busy do you want to be? I can't believe you found doxie fabric in pinks and so much of it!! Can't wait to see this bag. I may just have to add an order, at least if you are goign to be taking any.

Julia, I found a different pattern which will still be a different style using three coordinating fabrics. It's called the Birdie Sling and is a larger tote/hand bag. The finished tote is 28 inches long including the handles and 18 inches wide. I'll be making it up in the next couple of weeks and will post a pic. It is very definitely different than the one I posted on Facebook. I have made two more of the smaller ones and have two more to finish this week -- the two completed ones are in pink tones and I have one to do in blues and greens and one in browns and rusts. The handles on the Birdie Sling are wider and longer (I'll know for sure when I sew it up) but are definitely good for use on the shoulder. As I said the bag finished with handles in 28 inches long and 18 inches wide....much larger than the Lady Claire handbag. Dee

Teresa, I'll post a picture when I finish the bag which should be in the next week or so. I'm excited to get this made and see how it turns out. I'm thinking about going and picking up more of the doxie fabric....I'd rather have a stash of it, then not being able to get it al all. Between the two doxie prints, I have 10 yards but I am serious about going to get more. I can always use fabric!! Dee

3 fabrics, huh? Then I'm thinking the one with the 5 different colored dachsie, the pink with brown bones, and the fashionista print - yummy! It just keeps on getting better!
