Rescues or any ideas

My niece just left her very controlling domineering husband he was with her 24/7,she was not allowed to work or drive or be around her family she finely woke up when he pushed her.She took with her a 8 month old mixed breed pup whom the husband hated if she had left the pup she was scared he would just turn the pup loose. She has filed for divorce is staying with her mom at present time but the mom wants the pup into a new home as soon as possible.
The pup was suppose to be a purebred Min Pin but as they were leaving the breeders they said might have Beagle mixed in ??? Is there a rescue that would take in a mixed breed dog? Where could I look on the Internet? what would I be looking for?the pup is crate trained,house broke,is learning sit and down and normal dog manners.My niece has a part time job,and is finely connecting with friends and family will move to an apartment one day this pup does howl like a Beagle he is tan with a black saddle and is as big as a Beagle.? If anyone has any ideas please let me know thanks ahead of time.In Tulsa OK the dog pound is a high kill place not sure about the SPCA here.

It would be a ways away from you, but the Denver Dumb Friends League takes in all kinds of dogs.   I'm not sure if they would have any openings right now or not.  Wish I could help.   I'll be praying you find a home for the dog soon.  Keep us posted please.
