Did they ever give her the results from her scan? Is she still handling everything okay. I know that sometimes it is harder once the news has had time to sink in and you realize everything you have to face in the next few months. Still praying for her and the rest of you.

Hi you guys, you are so sweet to ask about my mom.  She had the PET scan and the cancer got into the lymph node near the tumor in the female area but has not spread beyond that.  She has met with all her doctors at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale.  She will have radiation and chemo at the same time for five weeks.  After that she will have surgery.  Right now the tumor is too big for them to cut it all out so they have to shrink it first.  I have a sister who lives in Scottsdale real close to Mayo, so my folks will stay with her (the folks live in Yuma).  I have 4 sisters, and besides the one in Scottsdale there are three of us who are able to go to AZ to help.  One sister who lives in Homer, AK has a fulltime job and cannot get away, but she said she would pray hard for the rest of us.  My sister in Scottsdale will need help when mom is there because she also has a fulltime job, so three of us have worked out a plan to go help the folks and give care to the caregiver (my sister in Scottsdale).  My stint will start around the third week of March after mom has surgery, and I will be in Yuma mostly during that time, I think, with maybe some trips to Scottsdale.  Anyway, I am very blessed to have a family who really pulls together and helps.  And I thank God for friends like you guys who care about me and what is going on in my life.

We're sending our best "shrinking" rays her way!   I sure hope it shrinks down and they are eventually able to remove it all.      Its great that the whole family is banding together to help her beat this thing.   Thanks for the update.  We're praying for your whole family.  Cancer is rough on everybody.
