Millie has just come out of heat, and I needed to get her some new girlie panties because the ones I had were not doing the job (let's just say the tail hole was too large and leave it at that, shall we?), so I ordered some new ones.  They came yesterday and I just had to show you guys.  Aren't they darling?  They almost make me wish she was still in season so she could wear them  :2funny:

Those are cute!  However, Millie looks unimpressed.

Parker's Mom here: Never mind Parker, he's a dog. They are cute. Does this company make belly bands for boys?

dis is Parker: What is belly bands.

They do, actually.  Here's her web site.  I got these in four days, I think, so she's pretty quick, too.

So sorry-I don't post nearly often enough for you guys to remember that (IMPRESSIVE MEMORY PAPBOUV!)-I probably should have mentioned it.  Yes, Millie is being shown fairly regularly, and I am breeding her late next year for her first litter of puppies.  I'm hoping to get one fantastic puppy that wins the genetic lottery to keep back and show as well, and if I do, she'll be spayed-if not, I'll try again.   I don't talk about it much on here, because that isn't really the focus of this site, but I really am trying to do it the right way.

Breeding to preserve the breed is the right way to do it.

puppy millers and back-yard breeders have to die!

I'd say you know exactly what I'm talking about and why my attitude is that way.

If you do breed, be smart about it. A lot can go wrong and I'm certain that you don't want to loose Millie in the process.

and before I forget

Millie is beautiful....I loves me some chocolate weinie dogs

I understand perfectly-I used to foster, so I've seen some terrible examples of the breed treated horribly.   I've done a great deal of research, and am planning very carefully.  I have an emergency vet within ten minutes of my home, so if the worst should happen, I'm prepared for it, both by planning and financially.  The puppies that are going to pet homes will be sterilized before leaving my home-the males by vasectomy and the females by tubal ligation, so if the owners do not follow through on the spay/neuter contract, they still will not be able to produce puppies  :thumb:  I no longer believe in early spay/neuter, having done the research on the health implications, and so I'm taking alternative steps to ensure that my puppies will not contribute to pet overpopulation, while trying to preserve the hormones that contribute to their growth.   I've been searching for the right male for about six months now, and I'm starting to visit owners to see them in person and determine which is the best choice to offset Millie's faults and improve temperament.   I've narrowed down the list to 6-7 boys and I hope to make the choice by February.  I'll keep you guys updated:-)
