Da First Annual All Yous Can Eat, Gwasshopper Feast!!!!!    :meme: :hello2: :headbang: :apls:   I hear dey are high in pwotein and low in fat, which makes dem a healfy tweat for us "fluffy" doxies.     Aldough, I have yet to experience da flavor myself.     Dats not due to a lack of twying eidder.  Da hunt is so much fun, eben if you leab empty handed (er...pawed???)    Now dats Iz got you 'cited here's da details.

It has come to my 'ttention da a field next to my home, has become oberrun wif dese gwasshopper fings.   Dis is onwy da first genewation, wif da young ones to be hatched in a week or so, and dere are alweady hundreds or thousands in dat SMALL field.    We must do our part to ensure da farmer can get at least free cuttings of his hay.   In order to ensure da safety of his cwop, we must act immediately!!  Dere are simply too many of dese buggers to eat myself, so I'm organzing a hunt.    Don't worry, eben if ebery doxie came we would still hab plenty to eat.    Most often, da second and fird genewations with double and sometimes quadruple da population of dese nasty cwitturs, so we must act soon!!!

Da Feast will be held ebery ebening, starting tonight until da first fwost.   I am told da first fwost kills most of dem.   You do not need to rsvp or anyfing, just come on ober to farmer Dave's hay field and start catching.     Its a gweat workout for us "fluffy" ones and dey won't make us gain any weight.   I must caution you not to eat more den free a nght.   If you do, you'll wegwet it.    :eeew:

  Porky Pie

PS> Please attach any and all questions below dis message.     Also....i cannot gib a specific address, (for 'curity weasons!!) just find a field near you and dat jus' might be Farmer Dave's!!!!    In odder words, go help out any farmer wif catching his gwasshoppers.     We hab become so despewate, we are inbiting any and all types of dogs AND dose C-A-T fings.

OMG LOL that brings back memories.

I remember when Simon-Angel was about 2 years old and we were living in Texas. They have these big grasshopper things about the size of your thumb that make a loud chirping noise at night. My friend and I were sitting on the front porch under the light and that bug was bumping against the light and Simon-Angel was watching like a hawk. It bounced around the light a few times, hit the ground and Simon was on that thing like fur on a gorrilla. CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH....a wing fell out of Simons mouth, he looked down at it and licked it up. That really set us off on a good laught. Hilarious.

Thanks for the fond memories.

Thanks!! They said the grasshoppers were going to be awful this year, but I didn't beleive them since we weren't seeing any.   Well, now that the first generation has hatched I can see that they are going to be right.

You're welcome!  Porky hasn't caught any yet, but he sure is having fun chasing them.    :2funny:   It probably looks really hilarious to the neighbors since he's on his leash and we are running through this field.  (with Farmer Dave's permission of course!)     Some of our neighbor dogs have been joining in on the fun too.    The farmer's only rule is no poo in the field.

Maybe i was a Dashie in a past life, i used to chase grasshoppers like CRAZY when i was a kid! LIke, non-stop! My sister-in-law (who was also my babysitter) used to have to chase me down and haul me inside and give me *rap for making her run around behind me.

I didn't eat them though....

I wanna play! Is it OK if I don't eats them though..I don't like hurtin' stuff but I do like to barely poke their butts with my nosie and then I jerk my head back as they HOP up in the air. I follow them around like that. It's good exercise for them and I think they really love to work out. Gets them up off the couch and away from those darn computer games.  :thumb:
