Frida Kahlo Update

Our dear Frida was helped to the Bridge this morning while nuzzling in my arms. Frida's legs and back had declined quickly and we could see that she was uncomfortable. Frida and I started our day with oatmeal and eggs and then Frida spent time on the front porch, sitting on my husband's lap, reading the newspaper and growling at people passing by. My husband used to smile and tell us everyday, "No dog had ever loved their mom as much as Frida loves you!," and I would giggle and Frida and I would have a smoochfest or play with one of her favorite squeaky toys (that she had already destuffed, for sure). My husband and I knew that Frida was tired and worried. I am trying to find relief in knowing that she is comfortable, which I know she is. I miss my sweet girl so very much, but I know that she is free of discomfort and chasing butterflies now. My heart feels so heavy and broken and I must say that I greatly appreciate your kind thoughts for us and our girl.

OH NO!!!!
This was the last thing I expected to hear, OMG what a shock, I am so sorry...there is nothing worse we go through in life. I know you and your husband are hurting so much right now, we are hurting along with you. I just can't believe the news. Life can really throw a rock sometimes. Many prayers for you both and of course dear Frida. Please keep in touch with us and let us know how you are.

Our hearts are saddened. Frida-Angel is now at the Rainbow Bridge with all the doxie angels and together they are chasing butterflies and playing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time.

Thank you again for your kind words and thoughts. I was looking at the pictures of Frida moving around in the front yard from an earlier post and it broke my heart. Last week she was showing difficulty with her mobility and I was hoping that it was just the hot weather. Frida did not want to move away from her perch on the couch and my husband and I have been carrying her from spot to spot. It seemed to be the only place that she was really comfortable. The vet confirmed that the problem was indeed Frida's back in a higher location than her previous surgery. Unfortunately, our vet did not feel that Frida was a good candidate for surgery with her age and the damage. My husband and I knew that we had to relieve her of her pain no matter how much we thought we needed her here with us. Your thoughts and kind words mean the world.

We were hoping the rays would have her feeling better soon.

Awwww....we're so sorry to hear about Frida. We will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. We hope that the pain of her sudden loss will soon fade so that only the happy memories remain.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Frida. I haven't been on the board much lately and I've missed a lot. You were wonderful to help Frida go peacefully. I know your heart is broken right now and you miss her like crazy. If they weren't such wonderful little dogs we wouldn't be so affected by them when they are alive and when they leave. Take care and remember all the good times you had with Frida.

My heart just about stopped for a moment. Dear little Frida is gone. You must hurt so much right now. Please accept my deepest condolences and when the shock of this moment is over, you will remember all the wonderful times you had with your sweet girl.

I am so sorry to hear about Frida's passing. I lost my Solomon this past January unexpectly, too and know what you are going through. Please know that you and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers.

Just think about her causing trouble wherever she is, mad that he mom isn't with her, and smile. You'll have a very crabby Dashie to deal with eventually.

Oh, my goodness! I read emails first when I get on the computer, and I actually slept in this morning. DD had emailed me, so I quickly came over here to see what was up! Frida can now do the social networking she was unable to do here. Run free, sweet Frida! You will be greatly missed!

Another angel is now playing at the Bridge.

We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Frida. We lost our beloved senior Oscar is March, and it was terrible. We still miss him so much. Now Oscar has a healthy heart and Frida has healthy legs and back. Hopefully they are playing together with many other dachshunds, young and happy, waiting at the Bridge.

Sorry for the loss of your dear Frida. That last gift of pain-free rest can be ever so hard to give, but having heard of Frida's pain, you helped her in the kindest way. We too, lost our Stormy last December, and understand what you're going through. You, yours and dear Frida are in our thoughts & prayers.
