My grass & mud eaters?????

I will be looking this up on google later but both Patches & Buddy have been eating allot of grass then tonight Buddy did not want to come in to go to bed. He had his head down in one spot in the yard usually he wants in to go to bed I walked out with a flashlight to see what was so interesting. I found a little round spot about 4"X4" they had eaten all the grass and was down to the mud and they were eating mud????
I know when dogs eat strange things it is called Pica so will look it up later. I figured the reason they were eating grass is because it had turned green again. I thought when the new wore off they would slow down but they do not seem to be slowing down any they do it every day & night mostly at night.
I feed Taste of the Wild right now I have the Bison one I get the Salmon one too and trade back and forth between the two.Now wondering if I should go to a food with the grain in it??? Anyone else's dogs turned into cows???Papbouv

That's really interesting! I wonder what is going on...I wonder if it could be the food? Hallie only eats grass when she is going to urp...I've never seen her just snack on it like your 2 are. If you figure it out let us know!

Ms. Lucy is a regular cow, she eats grass all the time. From what I can find nobody seems to know why they eat grass, they just do it. Unless you have a reason to suspect that something is wrong with them I wouldn't worry too much.

Now eating mud is another thing altogether...I'd wonder about that.

Humans eat mud for extra nutrients in African tribes, so maybe the dogs think they need more nutrients?      Porky doesn't eat grass unless he's sick, but he loves to eat veggies.

our pair have the munchies sometimes and its only certain types of grass.............vet said not to worry as for dirt eating Emma did that, but Emma was Emma..........
