Some rays for my MaMa please

eLlIe here .... could you spare some rays for my MaMa ?
We haven't been on this board too much because MaMa has been dealing with some health problems , she thought things were getting under control and then this week she found out she has breast cancer. She knows in her head that she'll be ok but she sure is hugging me a lot.

Oh no Ruth I am so sorry to hear this! Health things can just hit you out of the blue and you are blindsided. My cousin is another one who beat this 7 years clear now and hers was aggressive they said. I just HATE the C word it hits anybody at any time they sure do need a cure for this. Hang in there I'll be praying hard for you too please keep us posted on how you are doing! Keep hugging Miss Ellie.

We have a lot of ads on tv and radio about "I pink for ...", so we definitely pink for you, Ruth. I have a cousin I am pinking for, as well. I keep hearing about a potential cure - at least for the past several weeks, so it is fairly new. I am pinking all the way!

We do lots of pinking at our house. I know too many people who have had this disease, and have watched them win the battle. I'm confident you will do the same. I will send plenty of pink healing rays your way and say lots of prayers. The next time I'm out and see something with a pink ribbon on it, I'll be buying it to remind me to always say a prayer for you.

We're on your pink team too Ruth! This d*** thing can happen to any one of us at any time. My cousin got it 7 years ago (she was 39 at the time) at that age they say it's usually genetic but no one on either side of her family ever had it. So no one is immune. (she is doing great 7 years later by the way, no recurrance and it was an aggressive one). Please keep us posted on how you are doing I've been thinking of you.

Thank you for asking. Surgery scheduled for May 13. Follow up treatment will depend on what they find. Hopefully small and hasn't moved anyplace THINK PINK

I friend and I went to an Arts and Crafts Fair today. One woman had a beautiful collection of earrings called "Wildflowers" Each pair was unique and inspired by the wildflowers of Montana. We spent a long time at the booth, trying to pick out just one pair. The artist heard me say something about wanting a PINK pair..... and from our conversation realized why I wanted PINK. Finally I chose one pair .... not the PINK. When I went to pay for them she GAVE the PINK ones to me ! I stood there and cried .... (picture added)

What a nice lady! There always seems to be some really uplifting moments like this when we are going through our worst times. Gives you a little faith. The earrings are beautiful! VERY nice of the lady that gave you the pink earrings. Nice to know there are still people like that around. And as for Ellie and her pink attire - you go girl! I just love that scruffy face, no matter what you're wearing!

I think it is wonderful that she gave you the earrings. This is one disease that has touched so many lives and brings so many people together. It also allows people to bestow acts of kindness upon others. I'm glad we have reached a time where we aren't afraid to talk about it. By talking about it, your support system continues to grow.
I'll be praying for you on Wednesday and will have those who are working with me wear some pink that day.

48 hours post op and I just took a nice hot shower. Oh little things make me HAPPY !

I have had some discomfort ... but not really any pain. They got all the cancer and tested only two lymph nodes and the there was no cancer there so they didn't have to take any more. Thanks, God. I think the plan is radiation (5 days a week for 6 weeks) and then Tamoxifen . Ruth

MaMa had her 16th radiation treatment today ..... "almost" half over. She looks half baked too ..... as if she was only half topless sunbathing .... and not even half the fun either. eLlIe
