I have been sooo swamped at work - working 7 days a week and I do have some pics on the camera - just haven't uploaded yet !!!  Bad bad mudder !!!

They are all settling in.  I was so happy this morning when I was getting ready for work and Rudy and Toby played with each other !!!!  I think they realize he is staying, but are still hesitant around him.  It will come in time.  He is a very clingy boy when I am home.  He hates the x-pen and it is heartbreaking to leave in the morning and hear him howling and barking.  He does eventually calm down.  I am going to start working on this in the evenings - putting him in, sitting by him and rewarding with treats when he is quiet.  They say when you get up to 15 minutes of quiet, leave the room and continue doing the same thing.  He just needs to gain the confidence that he IS staying and that I WILL come home !!!

I was so spoiled with Rudy and Brandy taking to each other right away and them being easy to leave during the day.  Toby is still the big destroyer - toys and rugs and has tried to dig a little in the back yard - so I am no where near comfortable leaving him free !!!

He LOVES when you tell him Good Boy !!!  He has such a long tail and almost hits himself in the head when he is proud of himself !!!  He is about 50% on the pottying.  He will go outside to pp and then poop in the house.  We are working on it and now that the holidays are done, can get on a regular schedule and hopefully that will help.  He walks good on the leash and it is really good for ME when I take only the boys - because they both walk fast !!!  When Bran goes, we are very slow....but that is ok !!!

I'm glad Toby is settling in well. I think your idea about how to get him used to you leaving is a great one!

Oh, I'm so glad things are working out.  GOOD BOY Toby!  I can so relate to some of the things you said like:

I was so spoiled with Rudy and Brandy taking to each other right away  That was Dolly and Madison.  There was NEVER a grrrr between them.  Things are getting better but we still have our moments.

  That's Bonnie all over.  Her tail is REALLY long (Maddie has a rather fat short tail for a Dachsie) and Miss Bon Bon LOVES to be told that she's a GOOD GIRL.  Her nickname is Miss Waggy Tail.

Hi Barb, so glad things are running smoothly.  Just take things one day at a time.  Toby sounds like a really good boy and learning quickly.  I understand walking with the boys.  Walking with Oscar and Trooper is at a much quicker pace than with Bonita.  Bonita absolutely must stop to sniff every blade of grass.  Cannot wait to see more pics of the furkids.
