Sorry.......to ALL..............

I will have to come back at a later time. The other day, 2 boys (12 & 13, brothers) drowned in a nearby river trying to cross thin ice. I have been SO depressed...because on December 19, it will be 8 years since my 8-year-old son died due to a winter accident, lets just say that.

Plus, I finally got to see my 17 (almost 18) year old nephew who I used to be VERY close to until his mother left him & his sister here in WI to move to MN & marry a 21-year-old and she's nearly 40 and pregnant, due in February with a boy.

On top of all that...I met my 21-year-old son I gave up for adoption when I was 15...and he's sweet and wonderful (when things go HIS way) but otherwise is an ungrateful, immature @ss. My 3 kids (2 1/2, 6 & 11) all met him and simply adore him...and now, he's pretty much invisible again. *sigh*

Plus, my husband says I need to worry about being happy for the family I have now & let everything else go. AS IF....like that COULD happen. I try my hardest this time of year to be happy for the children's sake, but it ain't easy by any means.

So...the reason I am writing this is because I logged in, read 3 posts of Doxies going to The Bridge and I'm afraid my poor heart & soul can't handle that emotional stuff right now.

Oh gosh, I am so sorry that you are going thru so much heartache. The loss of the two brothers.........I know you can relate to what the parents are feeling, having lost a son yourself. Sometimes we all have "family crap." It happens in the best of families. When it happens, you just have to let it slide, and concentrate on the good stuff in your family, celebrate the good kids and husband you have. So many people that I know are going thru hard times right now. Don't let it get you down, concentrate on the good stuff. Do whatever it is that makes you feel good.............light a fire in the woodstove or fireplace, fix a hot toddy, have a glass of wine, invite a friend out for lunch and make it a three hour lunch. Cheer up, life is full of potholes and its no fun at times, but there is a lot of good, too, you just have to look. When I am down and out, I try to think of someone who could use some cheering up, and that gives me a purpose and a goal. It helps me to help someone else. Hang in there. Please post again soon.

Patty did a really great job saying it all. Wow, that is amazing and did make me feel a lot better

. I will post as I can, but wow, what an amazing person she is! I guess, when life throws you lemons....THROW Them at some lunatic driver! jk I'm hanging in there and will have good news the next time I post...I promise!

Yeah yeah. He is! He's SO good! Cali is pretty

but she barks at him & eggs him on to chase her. See, our Golden is nearly 9 and Cali just wears her out so fast. We got Shadow so Cali would have a buddy to play with because she's just a pup herslf (14-months) and I think in the past 24 hours, has played more than in the entire time we've had her!!! She's learnin'. Thanks Patty, I am blessed.

Oh-Shadow is 9-weeks-old and about 25 lbs! BIG boy! But SOOOO mellow & sweet.

Add: I got Shadow from my sons best-friends mom (the son who passed away, his best friend was a girl, Alex & her mom & I were good friends, but had lost touch until recently). Karma, in my opinion. Things just happen for a reason.

Thanks. When this 'time' of the year is over, it'll be better. The winter just started & I'm already sick of it! I don't so much as mind the snow, but the cold! Poor dogs can hardly play outside without limping & lifting their paws....it's so cold. Single digits.

I feel the same way about winter... Snow~ love it, Cold~ who in the H**L thought of that one??? lol It has been dipping into the single digits here too... BRRRRRR!!!! Tell the puppers to try and stay warm & give them a smooch for me.....

Snowing and +20 here today. I think I will go for a walk later. The darkness of winter gets to me, and I have to keep myself real busy. Its especially hard right now since I am not working and I'm not around people all day. I don't have any close friends nearby and no real sense of community. Lots of people are building new houses and moving into the neighborhood that we are next to. So everyone is new. I have been going thru boxes and getting a lot of stuff ready for a garage sale next summer. Since I have a 2-car garage, it won't matter what the weather is doing when I have my garage sale. I hope it brings a lot of neighbors over so I can get to know them better. I used to do that by riding my horse Jasper around the neighborhood, but he passed away last February and now I have nothing that is ride-able, not that I would ride right now anyway seeing as I am recovering from neck surgery. I am real thankful for my online friends and for those I have actually met in person and felt a kinship with them. One good thing to keep in mind.....the days start getting longer in a couple of weeks! We don't notice it right away, but it helps just knowing that the days are in fact getting longer.
