Nothing too serious but Miss Bonnie Lou is in the cone zone for the next week.  She had her first vet check up and at the  time, of her visit she issporting an owie on her back that she just won't leave alone.  Looks like a bite of some kind, most likely an insect, not Madderoo.  The lampshade was recommended along with some fish oil supplement to get it all healed up.  She is being a good sport but still would appreciate any tiny rays you could spare.

Rays to Bonnie no fun when you are low to the ground and stuck with a lamp shade on your head, get well soon Bonnie Patches & Buddy.
PS: in some of the newer catalogs they have something that looks like a towel goes around their neck keeps them from getting to sores, wounds and the like might be more comfortable?Papbouv

From Alex:
Bonnie I can so totally relate!!!!!   :meme:  I was a conehead for TWO WEEKS!!!  Ugh!  What a drag.  But I had fun with it because my bro Willy was totally freaked out by my cone.  So I would go up behind him when he was unsuspecting and BONK him in the rear.  HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!   :2funny:  It was worth it.
Hang in there Bonnie.

Sending HHHHH's & PPPPP's for Bonnie.
Hope she gets this off soon.
Watch out those cones are dangerous to your legs ince they still think they can fit through small spaces. Mine were totally blank & blue when Zena wore the cone.

Dearest Alex, this is Bonnie.  You know what?  I've already learned (I'm quick) that I can really hassle Maddie with this retched cone.  Why just tonight, I bonked her in the head and she SQUEAKED!  This thing is awful but at least I can poke my sissy and...ahem...pretend like it was an accident.  Bwahhahahahahaha.

New Jersey Doxie rays heading to Miss Bonnie.  Hope her owie heals quickly.

There are other items that do the same thing, but are not so cumbersome as that plastic cone.  If Miss Bonnie has to wear the cone for a long period of time, you might want to look into finding something easier on Bonnie and Maddie.

Poor Bonnie we too hope she gets the lampshade off soon. Those are no fun for anyone, pup or mom! Have you tried the soft neck ones we were just talking about that last night at some dog training friends of mines house, a lot of people are going to those instead of the big cone they seem more comfy but I have not actually seen one yet.

Poor Alex he does look miserable there so glad he is healed up now too.

Oh well duh I am just now reading everyone elses posts about the soft neck thingie...ignore me! But let us know if you get one I'd be curious how they work on her.

I found a great "cone" at Petsmart when I had to have one on Winston for an owie on his foot.  It was inflatable, which was great because it prevented him from getting to it, but gave him vision and it was soft, so if he bumped into something, it was cushioned.  Here's a photo taken right after I put it on him (note the panicked look-and no, Murphy wasn't hanging upside down, lol-he was hopping down from the chair) and it only took him a few hours to adjust to it.

i was just remembering when Cocoa had to wear a cone for stitches and she had such short legs she would bonk the edge of the cone on the floor when she tried to walk.  She would give her Daddy the evil eye, "Git this offa me!"  Hang in there Bonnie!

The soft donut looks like a great idea for short-legged doggities.  And, if you're tired it can double as a pillow

Guinness had to wear one once when Auntie Karen lived in her old house.  Every time he tried to go up the stairs, the cone would catch the edge of the stair and he would fall æss over teakettle back down the stairs.

Auntie Karen laughed 'til she peed!
