It has been a crazy week, so I am late in posting this.

Last Saturday the 25th marked 3 years  with Pork Chop!

I was contacted in October 2005 through the Disabled Dachshund Society about Pork Chop, a cart dog who needed to be fostered for the DRNA. I agreed, and went to Newport to pick him up.

When I picked him up, I learned that he needed to have his bladder expressed, or at least I was told this. Well, after a few days, I learned that he could go on his own just fine! He is incontinent, so he goes whenever and wherever he has to. He has no idea that he is doing anything.

My contact in the DRNA was Rachel Fleck, who I knew from picking up Willy. I made regular reports on Choppy's progress to her, and we really became attached to him. By Christmas, we decided to keep him forever!

Pork Chop is disabled from a slipped disk in his neck, between the 3rd and 4th vertebrae. His future is unknown- he may walk again, or he may not. Until then, he will continue to run around in his cart. He doesn't really care for his cart, he would rather just drag himself around all day!

At night he sleeps in a crate next to Johanna, our other disabled dachshund. He must be confined or he could hurt himself dragging around.

Can't you harness the three of them up and run 'em like Clydesdales? :2funny:

Handle every "Situation" like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it,
tinkle on it and walk away.
