Metacam vs Prednisone

I am showing my ignorance here - but do Metacam and Pred do the same thing?

I am going to google both, but just trying to get straight in my mind how they work..... also Rimadyl...... does it do the same thing?

Figured I would ask the people "in the know !!!"

Barb they do the same thing but Metacalm is non steroidal so none of the bad things or prednisalone ie cortisol defects, weight gain etc. Emma was on it for the last few years of her life, I think her life would have been difrent if had been arround when she was young, she would probably not had diabetes etc. Its not for allergiesits and antiinflammatory. I keep a bottle just in case for them  at both houses. Rimadyl I did not like the side effects that I saw when Angus and Emma had been on it.

LOL - Actually Auntie Karen is my spell check woman.... When I first posted - I spelled GOOGLE as GOGGLE and she called me on it !!!!
