Oh boy central air went out tonight on a Friday too so do not know if our units repair service can get to us since it has been super HOT here this weekend suppose to be 104* Sunday I HATE HOT WEATHER. Buddy & Patches both love to HOG the ac big time so they are not going to be happy at all Patches & I could go to a hotel/ motel but do not think many will accept a 30" 88# Doberman even though he has his CGC may call around and see though. Hubby never does the maintenance on the Central Unit in winter or summer just waits till it stops working then will call someone MEN are a PIA. Just finely got some bills paid off now I will have monies to do that stuff myself but not until 8/14/08 but I'm too late. I will be getting it checked out for winter that's for sure makes me nervous that the heat part is in the attic. Sorry for the vent but I really, really hate hot weather then we have high humidity too.

YIKES!! :meme:

You have our sympathy vote.  I'd go online and check pet policies and unless they have a size limit, I'd go for it.

And remember my motto:

AIN'T THAT THE TRUTH!!!!

You truly have my sympathies.  No air is awful, but just think how it would feel if it was winter.  At least you can do without ac.

I'm just the opposite, Darcel.  In the winter you can always put on another sweater or pair of socks.  In the summer, you can only undress so far before you can't come out of your bathroom.

When my children were little, we played a game called "Keep the heat off 'til December 1st."  What we saved in utility costs in the winter we spent in the summer!  74 degrees?  Crank up the A/C!!!

I spent 5 days & nights in the house with No power during the Ice Storm we had last winter it was about 45* in the house found out a Doberman's teeth chatter when its that cold. You can put on layers of clothing to keep somewhat warm but when it is HOT forget about it even if you strip down naked still too hot. Got lucky I called the repair service at 6:00am & 8:00am they called back at 9:15am were here at 9:45 am put two new parts on it and it works great it was 85* in the house when the came the poor thing ran until almost 7:00pm finely got the house cooled down to 75*. Today's temperature was 101* with a heat index of 109* they had heat advisory on the TV all day suppose to be 104* Sat & Sun not much telling what the heat index will be know Patches & Buddy hate to go out even just to potty. Do not have to call them twice usually standing by the backdoor wanting right back in I really feel sorry for them since they wear fur coats. Thanks for letting me vent I did have a place for Buddy to go the vet where his other Mom ( breeder) works were going to take him in at least he would have been in the ac Patches & I were going to the Red Roof INN they take pets. My sister & her husband & Boston terrier stayed there during the Ice Storm, already have Buddy 2 coats + a rain coat the same for Patches not going to freeze this winter.

Had two fans on + 2 ceiling fans when we were young and STUPID we had charcoal Grey siding put on the house the steel kind I hate it it heats up the house like crazy even though we have a white roof. They have opened up Cooling stations for people to go to it is so HOT here we also have very high Humidity. The ambulance service has treated over 16 people with heat related illnesses people of all ages. If I do not have to be in the heat I'm not going to do it just because I hate Hot weather have to put up with it for about 2 months hope October will hurry up & get here I'm ready for Fall.Anyone that wants to sit in front of a fan good for them I'm just not one of those people.

I'm so glad you have gotten it repaired and working. One of the firefighters that works with Randy works part-time with a heating and air company. I hope we will be able to get him if (or more like when) we have a problem. The older I get, the less I can tolerate heat. I can tolerate cold much better. I guess I'm lucky that I'm married to someone who is the same way. He does go a little too far with the A/C at night sometimes, but I can deal with it when I have to. I just hope we see fall temperatures earlier this year than last. It was November before it really cooled down and stayed cool. Stay inside, papbouv, and enjoy the A/C today. I've got a few errands to run, then I'm getting out of the 100 degree weather we are going to have here.
