We finally convinced Mom that we needed to get on the 'puter!  We've been takin' it easy as it's really really hot here and the heat makes us lazy!  We go outside and do our business and then it's right back in to the air conditioned house!  As many of you know, Mom is retiring....tomorrow is her last day at werk!  Then she is home with us full-time.....well, that is, after Cassie and Sean's wedding on July 5th!  She says after all the activity settles down, we can get on the 'puter more!  Now, we was resting on the couch today, and Mom comes and puts this sign by us.....(see piccys below)......she says it was a retirement gift from some of the people that she werks with......Mom and Pop are gonna hang it on the fence....so people will...."Be Afraid....Be Very Afraid"....of us?????? We'll lick everyone to da ground!

And, this was also another gift that Mom got.....a doxie papertowel holder......it was made by a local artist here in Spokane....along with some doxie salt and pepper shakers...

Mom sezs this week will be busy.  Her last day of werk is tomorrow.  Tuesday will be a quiet day for us so we'll make sure that she gives us all the attention.  Then, Wednesday, she starts baking for the three tiered wedding brownie cake for Cassie and Sean's wedding on Saturday --there will be seven layers of cake involved...3, 2, and 2 for each tier.  With the schedule, she will bake them and then wrap the layers really good and freeze them until Friday. She will ice and decorate the cake on Friday.  On Thursday, they get the key to the Grange Hall and will start setting up the decorations (inside) and then pick up five sheet cakes that she had someone else bake and put them in the refridgerators at the Grange (All has to be done on Thursday, cuz everything is closed for the 4th); On Friday, they will finish with the decorating at the Grange Hall, then there is the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner on Friday night.  Then Saturday is the big day......Mom will be on the go all day, and Dad will be on the go in the afternoon and the wedding is in the evening.  The neighbor is going to come and let us out to do our business during the late afternoon.  The ceremony is outside and the reception is inside.   Mom and Pop sezs, it's a good thing we'll be at home cuz there is gonna be 250 people there........we would much prefer being home......

Well, that's it for now......more later from Sarge & Duggie!

Hey boys, can I talk to your mommy for a minute?  Thank you.

Dee, CONGRATULATIONS!  Retirement and being able to stay home with the puppers,  WIENERFUL!!!  And also, happy wedding!  Sounds beautiful.

I couldn't help but capture your pictures.  In the first one, it looks like Duggie is saying, "What does that sign say?  Be afraid?  Of ME?????"

In the second picture he's saying with a snort.  "Yeah right.  Like I'm real scary."

Hey, who are Cassie and Sean?  Are they smooth, long-hair or wire-hair, red, black and tan, or what?

Are they spayed and neutered?

I asked Auntie Karen and after she stopped laughing, ( :chairfall: ) she said, "Beats me.  Good questions.  Ask Dee!"

So I'm asking Auntie Dee - where did these puppers come from?  Are they rescues?

What's their deal?

Guinness,

Cassie is Sarge and Duggie's husissie and Sean will soon be a hubrudder joining Tyler and Wil.  Cassie is the oldest and only girl in da family besides me.  Us girls, are out-numbered!  Some days, it feels like they are rescues!  And, no, they are not spayed and neutered as you furkids are.  I guess you could say they are "smooth".....as in smooth operators especially when it comes to the wedding costs!  But we love them!  And, as Dave has told them, you get one wedding and only one so make it last a lifetime!  Auntie Dee

Time goes by quickly. It doesn't seem like it has been six months since January when you were talking about retiring in July, right before the wedding. I'm sure you are glad it is here, even though it will take a while for it to really sink in. I hope everything goes perfectly this weekend. I remember when my mom made our 3-tiered wedding cake. It was beautiful, but what a tough thing for the bride's mother to do. Can't wait to see pictures!

Happy Retirement, Dee, and some rays that the wedding goes off without a hitch!  I love your paper towel holder.  That is such a neat, personal gift.  Did the boys think it was some robotic dachsie?

Thank you all for the well wishes.  I work with a great group and variety of people.  34 years with one employer is a long time and I've gotten to know a lot of folks.  The gifts are only a few of what I received.....those posted were the whimsical ones.  All in all, I received a large amount in gift cards.....shopping here I come.....well, after the wedding.  Many goodbyes were done at meetings all last week.  This afternoon will be the final goodbye.  I will really miss the people that I have worked with.....not so much the work.....but the people.  The reality of retirement will hit me after this week.....with the wedding fast approaching, I'm not going to have time to really be in the mindset of retirement and that I don't need to be up at 4:30 every morning to get ready for work!  I know of two four-legged furkids who will really enjoy having BOTH Mom and Pop home!  Now I can watch Sarge and Duggie, every Wednesday morning, chase the monster mowers!   Dee

What Dave will enjoy, besides having your company during the day, will be the ability to have 17 inches of snow and not have to worry about you driving in it. You, of course, will enjoy being able to be home and not have to think about driving in it.
I have a feeling we will see many more pictures of the monster mowers, the boys, and their many antics. What a spoiled bunch you are going to have!

Congratulations on your retirement.  (It looks like the boyz are working hard on their synchronized napping.)

I am so happy for you...and jealous!  You will be so busy you will wonder how you had time to work!

Good luck with the wedding!  I would say to enjoy it; but, I think you are going to be working too hard to have as much fun as you should.  Please try to hand off some of the responsibilities to someone else so you can enjoy your daughter's big day!  You only get this once!!!

Great gifts!
