I Like My New Home!

Hello, everyone!  I'm Pfeffernusse, the German pastry dog.  Mommy thinks I'm even sweeter than my name, but she's got a big sweet tooth anyway.  I make sure I bite her nose enough to keep her in line.  She doesn't mind, because my teeth are so little that she doesn't take it seriously, but sometimes she says OUCH!  or NO BITING! so then I stop.  It's always worth a try, right?  I have two cozy spots to sleep or hang out -- my downstairs crate is a gold metal one (after all, I deserve the best!), and my upstairs one is  a little green playpen made of tent material.  It folds up, and Mommy says she'll take it with us when we go to Grammy's and Grampy's this weekend, whatever THAT means! I have a gold doggie collar that Mommy calls my Elton John collar, and sometimes she takes me Out For A Walk On My Leash.  Those leashes are wack!  Mine keeps getting in my way -- all I want to do is bite the wind, and it would be a lot easier if I didn't have to have a leash bothering me. Oh well.  At least I can climb out of my car carrier - Mommy hoped it would work out better than it did. (Mommy's note -- it's a black w/ white polkadot purst style carrier, ideal for a small, not so active puppy! I'm hoping it'll at least keep him in one place in the car until he's old enough for a car harness!)  Anyway, my idea of perfect happiness is being on Mommy's lap.  Sometimes she goes away and leaves me alone, and that's a little scary.  My cat sister Elmo is old, (10) but she's pretty nice, and she keeps me company.  She told me that there used to be another dachsie who used to beat up on her all the time, so she's happy to be bigger and stronger than me.  She thinks I'm cute!   I have two other cat siblings -- Lucille remembers back to the days before there were any puppies around the house, and Zeke has been around that long, too.  They're both 15, which is old, old, old!  Anyway, I think I'm gonna like this life!  I have lots of toys to play with, and that's great fun!
