Jasper passed away yesterday...

....we think he had a stroke.  We were lucky enough to find a Wasilla vet who was out making rounds, and she came right over to help him go.  He went very peacefully.  We will bury him next to Domingo this afternoon.  Its a daunting task burying a horse in the winter time.  Our road builder, Jim, is coming over with his excavator to dig a hole for us.  I'm just glad that we have the resources to bury Jasper here at home.  Most horse owners around here only have the option of having their horse hauled to the landfill.  Neeki is having a bit of a hard time, Jasper was her buddy.  Jasper was around 34-38 years old.  A real sweetheart and we will miss him very much.

I am sorry for his passing, but thankful that he passed peacefully.  How wonderful that you are able to keep him home.  Both Useless-Angel and my Fritz-Angel were buried in my mom's backyard, and I have Heidi-, Gretl-, and Siglen-Angel ashes in 2 boxes and a tin. which is a comfort to me.   He sure lived a long life, did Jasper.  I am sorry that Neeki is missing her buddy - hugs to her.  Did Willy and Alex pay much attention to Jasper, and will they miss him, too?
