Yep, it's been awhile since we posted.  I wanted to give you an update on The Roo.  She's GREAT!  Since she's been on the Royal Canin limited ingredient diet, her itchies have almost disappeared.  But additionally, she is BOUNCY again.  There for awhile, I thought, "uh oh.  She's 10 years old and has turned into a little old lady."  But since she's been on this food, she's got her bounce in her step back.  She actually RUNS down the hallway now to greet us!  Her coat is SO much softer and smoother and she just seems happy.  A good report card for Miss Madison.

Me?  Oh, I don't know.  I've been feeling yucky with my continuing back "thing".  Got yet another doc appt with a new doc coming up.  This doc is an MD but also uses a more holistic approach.  Took 6 weeks to get an appt so I hope it's worth it.  I just hate feeling so decrepate.  Unfortunately, I've been feeling a bit under the weather emotionally, as well.  Some days I can hardly LURK, muchless write.  I haven't written anything creatively for a LONG time.  SO.........if ya'll don't mind, until I get this cloud over my head whipped, I hope you don't mind if I go into lurk mode for the time being.  I still watch for those needing rays and prayers.  Please know I'm there for you.  I'm also taking extra time for Bible study these days.  I need to get my spiritual priorities in order and THAT has been helping my outlook.  I haven't disgarded the notion that I could use a little boost, medically speaking, and may discuss that at my upcoming doc appt.  I've used Effexor in the past.  Great stuff for getting rid of the blahs....only problem I experienced was it took away ALL feeling.  And getting off the stuff was a royal pain.  Don't know if I want to do that again.  If any have a supplemnet or med suggestion, feel free to PM me or write to me at my email (in profile).

So for now, I shall watch from the sidelines until I feel more like joining in the game, okay?

I know just how you feel sometimes, Sandi.  Since my mom died in October, I've been battling depression.  I know it's taking its toll on me, so I'm pushing myself to keep occupied!

I just volunteered to help with our synagogue's driving service for members of the community who need rides to doctor visits, etc.  Makes me get up and out the door!

Hang in there - we're all here for you!

That's great news about Maddie.  I've been thinking of changing Clifford from Solid Gold as he's been washing his front paws and legs constantly.

Sending some rays your way as well.  I know what you mean about drugs removing all feeling.  18 months ago I was on Lyrica to see if it would help the neurapathy in my feet.  I went off that cold turkey (which I've since read is a no-no) because I was falling asleep at stop lights on the way to work and couldn't concentrate and, like you, lost all feeling all over my body.  I decided I could live with the numb feet, not a numb body.

Anyway, pop in when you can.

There's nothing like having a dachshund tongue up your nose at 3 a.m.

Good to hear from you again.  Rays, hugs, and  :pray:s coming your way.  Continue on the spiritual growth.  It does help.  Until later.

Hi Sandi, I am glad that Maddie is doing better.  As far as your blahs go.......I just wish we lived closer together, we could go for a walk and let it all out and cry and laugh.  Cheer up, you mean a lot to me.

Hey, Sandi! Good to hear from you. Glad to hear that Royal Canin is working so well for Maddie. As for you...like Patty, I wish we lived closer and could be there physically for each other. Take care of yourself. Rays coming your way from Texas.

Glad to hear about the Madderoo, sorry for your back and blahs!  I have no advice to give you about meds, but the spiritual thing has become a real blessing for me these past 3 1/2 months, so I'd say you're on the right track there.  It is good to know that Royal Canin is helping Maddie with her itchies.

I was just thinking about you on Saturday. I was in WalMart and saw a Dell Computer there. I suddenly wondered if you had gotten a new computer yet, then my next thought was, "I haven't seen Sandi on the board lately, hmmmm.". I was planning to look and see when the last time was that you were on.
I'm glad to know that Maddie is doing so much better. I wonder if being preoccupied with the itchies took away a little of her bounce. It may have had something to do with it.
I understand about the depression. After our wreck two years ago it really took me awhile to get out of it. Even though I was getting better physically, there was so much anger and frustration to deal with, and no energy for it. The medication helped and I still take a low dose of it now. Definitely talk to your doctor about trying something else. I took Effexor a long time ago and you are right about trying to come off of it-the side effects are awful. I hope you find an answer to this and to the back problems. Visit with us anytime you feel up to it.

Fantastic news about Maddie!  You go girl!

Sandi, I'll send you an email.  There is a reason they call them "practicing" physicians.   Recently, I've been lucky and hit the right combination!
