we could sure use them around here again...             DH's 96 year old grandpa is fading on us...   He has a kidney stone, his liver enzymes are up and he now has the possibility of pancreatic cancer...   But, they can't operate to remove the growth because of his age...      So, he is now leaving the retirement home and going to the nursing home so they can take better care of him....    When we went to see him today, he was asleep and looked as if he was holding someones hand???   Was it his beloved wife that went before him from cancer???  Anyways, if you have a few rays and prayers to spare, please send some our way...    Right now I am just praying that he has a peaceful journey, and that we can all be at peace with his passing...  He only has a short time left...

I truly believe grandpa may have been holding his wife's hand and she is helping God to lead him home.  He is in the best place possible now to take care of him.  May he not suffer and have a peaceful journey.

My grandma died at 92 and people would say to me..."Oh she lived a long and healthy life", like that was supposed to make it alright and not hurt so much.....I find just the opposite.  When you have someone with you for so long, it makes losing them that much harder.

Many, many comforting prayers for your family at this difficult time.   We are all here for you.  God Bless.   :comfort:

Rays on the way....it is never easy letting go.  Saying a prayer that he goes peacefully when it is his time.  How touching about the hand - I bet he was holding his wife's hands - I am sure she is there waiting to guide him home.  I am praying that you have some more time with him - just share it with him - he will love that the most.

Hope he will go in peace, sometimes after being married over 50 years like my Grandparents my Grandpa was relived when my Grandma passed she had bone cancer he was glad she was not in pain any more. Sometimes when one goes the other will follow in about six months not the case for my Grandpa he lived on for about 5 yrs.

Rays and prayers coming from us to you as well. May your family find comfort in each other and be there together for this time. It is never easy losing a loved one. I believe as well that he was holding his wife's hand. May he have a peacful journey.

Its really hard waiting for the inevitable.  I hope your grandpa goes peacefully.  Does he still know you guys and is he able to carry on a conversation?

Hi all...  Thanks soo much for the rays & prayers....    Amazingly, Patty, he knows everybody (what a memory, huh??)  and he does hold a pretty good conversation still....   He seems to have made a uturn, though, he is doing really good right now...  But, you just never know...   My gramps was pretty good when we seen him in Sept. and 5 days later he was gone...   I truly believe that sometimes we wait to say our final goodbyes to everyone, and until then, unless it is really serious, we are alive...  My grams did that, she waited for my oldest to be born, and to talk to her very sick sister on the phone...  Kinda strange how that works...  Thanks again to you all...   You guys are great....

I was thinking about your grandpa...........anyone who has lived as long as he has has seen so much progress in the world, its really amazing.  I'm glad to hear that he is still sharp and able to communicate with all of you.
