The Dogupult aimed and hit its target in Greenacres this morning.......Dave and I had not planned on another furkid until this coming spring......we said it was too soon after Looie......but something made me go to Petfinders yesterday morning and here was a five year old gray/black dapple named Duggie (pronounced Doo-gie) in a silver pen looking so forlorn!  We went to see him this morning and he came home with us. Sarge is not quite sure of him yet.........but he was the same with Looie......it was an older lady who had doxies and cats and she surrendered them on the 5th of December because she could not care for them anymore.  Will post more later but here are some pictures of Duggie.  I'll post pictures of Sarge and Duggie when I get some.  Dee

Oh my goodness!  How wonderful is THAT?  (Mark says, "Sandi, you stay off those rescue pages.  See what happens?" )  Ohhhhhh, he's precious!!!!  Sargey, I'm sure, will just take some time and then he will think Duggie is the best thing since sliced....primerib.  I'm soooooo happy for you.....and I will be sneaking on petfinders too...heee heeee)  Of course, we'll need lots of stories.  What a wonderful Sunday!  :apls:  :thumb:

That is just wonderful, Dee.  Duggie is a very lucky pupper to have found you and Dave.  And such a cutie! I'm sure he and Sargey will get along fine.  Looks as if Looie may have sent you his Christmas present from the Bridge.

WOW!! Sure never expected this kind of news!! I am teary! WONDERFUL!! He looks to be smaller than Looie? What does his temperament seem to be like? I couldn't be happier for you guys. I know it does not take the pain away from loosing Looie and certainly is not a replacement but a whole new chapter. Bless you guys....Beth said it best, Looie sent you an early Christmas gift!

As another rescued blue/grey dapple, lemme welcome Duggie to wiener writings.  Boy oh boy wait til those big bad monster mowers show up in April!  I bet they'll be surprised to see Segeant and his new buddy Corporal Doogie on patrol!!!

I, too, am teary-eyed here, but with happy tears. It is so obvious that Looie worked this one out. He knew he would have to sneak it in fast, or you'd be waiting a few more months, and he knew Duggie needed a home, AND he knew Sarge needed a friend (even if Sarge isn't so sure right now). Can't wait to hear the stories about these two. Congratulations on the new addition.
Oh, wonder if Duggie has any idea that he has just landed in Weiner Wonderland!!

Wow.  That's amazing news!

As one who also received an unexpected Dogapult strike hard on the heels of having a furkid go to the Bridge, I can tell you, it is a bit overwhelming at first.   You almost feel guilty about not grieving long enough over the one that you lost before "moving on".   However, I am sure that this is exactly how Looie would have wanted it.   He loved his family unconditionally and the thought of all of you being so sad after his unexpected departure probably got him to point that Dogapult right at Greenacres.   Duggie will never "replace" Looie, just as Zeke and Zora can never replace Rudy & Max.   But our hearts have no limit to how much love than can give, and having another set of paws helps bring closure to one chapter, while a new one begins.   It's just the "Circle of Life" going around again.

Yahoo!!!  Congratulations to Duggie coming home to Green Acres.  I was just thinking of you guys today when putting up my parents' Christmas tree and found the bell from the first Lorie Line concert I went to.  I shook it thinking of Looie to be sure he got his wings and I'd say he certainly did with your new friend.

VERY COOL Dave and Dee!  A new family member found you, and what a handsome boy he is.  Duggie needed a home and you needed him, funny how that all works out.  Congratulations!!!   :thumb:

  I just love Duggie's adorable little face!!   Congratulations!!  I'm sure he and Sargey will become great friends.

Doxherding Karen

O.K., Hoomans we need your help to fix this very special pupper's name.

If'n you was alive back then (SSLOL) you 'member the TV show Doogie Houser.  Should his name be spelled Doogie?

Should it stay Duggie?  Dougie?  Naw, that's definitely DOUG - EE. That won't do.

Maybe we should wait an' see what rank he ends up with.  Now Sarge is enlisted and Looie-Angel was an officer.  Once Sarge and Duggie get themselves sorted out, then we'll know who's in charge of the troops.

AND . . . just to liven things up, Duggie COULD be either Navy or Air Force.  His blue gray color meets uniform requirements!

Give us your input.
