Here is the email I received from Eileen this evening ---
"Hi Patty.  I sent this email to your work, but now that I got your home email, I'm sending it again.  Thanks for caring so much.  The days have just been running into each other with me in la-la land.  I have had to be working with an auditor on our 2006 budget at the Fire District, trying to crunch numbers when my mind has been on Kleine, and running outside to take calls from the vet.  Kleine was transferred to the neurologist she was SUPPOSED to see at the very beginning of her stay at CSU.  If she had seen this woman first, I know some of these horrid tests would not have been conducted that made her worse.  The neurologist admitted to me that when she saw what the resident was doing taking the fluid out of her neck, she told him to stop and finished the procedure.  After hearing that, I spoke with the director of the hospital and they are going to make an adjustment to my bill.  Just what, I don't know, but something.  Of course nothing less than that doctor's castration would satisfy me at this point.  The good news is, this neurologist doctor put her on mega doses of prednisone and valium, plus a bunch of other stuff I will find out tomorrow, and Kleine is improving.  She is now urinating on her own (also in mega doses from the prednisone but she can pee on me all she wants when she gets home!) and moving her back legs, although she is too weak to stand yet.  Her neck is also starting to turn back to the left.  What a strong little woobie she is.  Being tortured, taking it and trying to come back......So I am hopeful because now something is at least working.  I think she is going to have to be on a bunch of drugs for quite some time, but at this point if it improves her quality of life, I don't care.  I will find out the whole scoop tomorrow when we go and pick her up.  We still don't have a diagnosis as to what is wrong with her, but at least she is improving.  I'm almost afraid to type those words!  I just can't wait to get her home.  I got very sick over this whole thing and couldn't eat and was actually vomiting from all the stress, but I'm feeling a whole lot better now.  I just don't know what to say to you for caring so much.  Please post for me tomorrow if you get a chance so all those who have been sending prayers and thoughts will know.  And tell DD I'm sorry I didn't get to answer her email.  I honestly couldn't get it together enough to do ANYTHING the last couple of days.  I was working until 8 pm both nights and coming home exhausted and depressed.  Now there is a ray of hope.....  We ARE going to meet some day so I can give you a big hug for all of this....Eileen"

I am so glad to hear this. I've been so worried about Klein. Once I read that there was inflammation in the spinal fluid, I had a feeling that a high level of prednisone or other steroids may work. Being home should do the rest. I'm just glad the neurologist finally got to see her before she got any worse.
I'm sure she will get plenty of spoiling and loving as Eileen puts all plans for her weekend on hold and puts Kleine first and foremost, as it should be right now. The prayers will keep coming for them all.

I am so happy for you both!!!!!! :hello2:

This past spring I had a similar situation with my bassett mix, Buford.  He had a pinched nerve in his neck and screamed in pain at the least little movement.  Then he started screaming in anticipation of the pain.  The vet recognized the problem right away and didn't even do xrays -- said he recognized the symptoms from his own dog.  He put Buford on these what I call magical anti-inflamatory pills.  Withing 24 hours I could see an improvement -- he actually got up and moved a few feet.  Withing a week he was like his old self.  I was so scared for him and I totally understand your feelings.  Please keep us posted.  All of our love, Bev, Beemer and Mercedes and crew

My heart goes out to you Eileen, I could not even think about how hurt you are and upset.  I give you so much credit for handling this so well.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and Keline.  I can not wait until you get her home!   Sending MEGA, MEGA RAYS!

And so glad to hear it!  Welcome home Kleine and I hope those medications make things better quick!

To your hu-mommy...Hang in there!

Wooo HOOOOOOO!!!!
That is FANTASTIC NEWS!!

Eileen pls email me and I can pass on to my sister who went thru something VERY similar with Miki - donuT's brother. Miki is still on steroids and anti-seizure meds now but has had NO relapses and this is for something the neurosurgeon said would only give him 6-12months to live. Doxies are TOUGH little babies and I am SURE Kleine will be 100% in no time!!

BIG HUGS to you and Kleine.
Thanks for keeping us posted
