OK Really?

Don't know if I should post this here or somewhere else but, today I had my anual phyisical.  Had the whole thing. Well I got a call from the doc  about 20 minutes ago. She said she couldn't go to sleep with out calling me! Well it seems that my blood work is abnormal and all my counts are off!! I know they were ok about a month ago when I saw her because I was really sick and she drew a ton of blood at that time and it turned out to be a virus. Now, is a nother matter. When I was 20 I had cercical cancer and treated it. But there is always that question. My brother had stage 4 lyphoma sp? and was bad for awhile but for some miricle came back and it doesn't show up now. I am worried. I can't say anything about it to my boyfriend because his mother just died and he would freak. Nor can I say anything to my mother because of what she went through with my brother. So I guess I am stuck spilling my guts to you guys. I hope you don't mind.     OK I feel better. Thank YOU all!!

It could be the  Virus, but as a lab worker I would go back and ask for a recollect as anything could have happened to the specimens ie left in the sun, left overnight, machine malfunction the list is endless. Were your tubes labelled in front of you if not they could be someone elses.
GET A RECOLLECT then worry if they come back the same, and find out what is abnormal and mail me sometimes what is abnormaly is say ESR which is not really worth anything without other parameters confirming it. They could not be that bad or  not life threating as she would have said get to the ER.

I agree with everybody Mel.....get everything redone.....I can't believe that EVERYTHING is off....that doesn't sound right!!!  Hugs and prayers are coming your way.....yes...Lab mistakes are common....and if you have to spill your guts out to us....we all welcome it!!!!!!!!!!!!  Please keep us updated as soon as you hear anything else....God Bless You....Cheryl

oh Mel. That is so hard to deal with on your own.     I'm here for ya if you need anything at all.   Send me a message or email if you need to talk.   I'll be praying for you and I agree with the others on here.  I think you need to get your tests redone.  I had some test results come back wrong  a few years ago and they ended up thinking I had leukemia.  Which I didn't.  Turns out some idiot had left my sample out overnight.     I'm hoping its all just a big mistake and your levels are fine.   

Please feel free to email me if you need anything.  I have today and tomorrow off work.  So..I should be able to respond fairly quickly.

Thank you everyone. I appreciate all the help and advice. I woke up this morning not wanting to do a thing. I took the day off and went to the doctors instead. I had them retake the blood and redo the tests. I do know that both times they were labeled in front of me. And I know that labs mess up all the time but it still threw me for a loop considering my family history and the problems that I have had in the past. So I am hoping that the new tests come back with better results. After all they are just testing the thyroid, choloestreol, kidney and liver, ya know the normal tests for a check up. I asked them to rush the results and hopefully they will. I will keep you all posted. I am glad that I have WW to be able to get some of this out. I appreciat it.

I have been thinking of Porkey and you as well. Tuttle just got into the bathroom cabinet and got out my headbands. He just brought them to me! I asked him if he was pulling a Porkey to make me feel better!! Then he just dropped them and climbed up in my lap and threw his head over my shoulder!! Then of course Mimi had to join in and got on my lap too and took over the other shoulder!!! I was in the middle of a doxie sammy!! And let me tell you how good that made me feel!! Of course the whole time I was trying to explain to them about how Porkey got into the cabinets and got the cough drops out and they pretended to understand like good doxies and proceded to lick my neck! I think I am going to do something special for them and make some scrambled eggs!! This staying home is great!! More time with my pups!! I just wish I knew something about my results, I know I am very impatient, and I know it will take a while so I just have to do something to occupy my time to keep my mind off of it for a bit. My boyfriend knows somethings up and he is taking the evening off from his second job to spend some time with me so that will help. I just wish it wasn't so dreary outside!!

Good for you for going back to the doctors to get the tests redone.  A lot of people (myself included) might feel that they were being paranoid by going back.  However, these days, it's very important to take your health into your own hands.  So many people rely on their doctor's word because, well, it's their doctor.....he/she should know.  But there are times that doctors can be wrong.  So I am glad to hear that you got them redone.  And it sounds like you have a very good doctor, considering she took the time to call you HERSELF to tell you about the initial results.  She would probably be more than happy to talk with you about any concerns that you have as well.  I am sending good thoughts and rays your way.  I hope that this last set of tests come back with good results.

Good for you, if its jus the normal annual things they should have the results by the end of the day some biochem the next day. As the rest say we are here for the sort of thing you are going through right now.

That is too cute!  I love when Porky comes to sit with me and puts his little head on my shoulder.  I'm glad you've got them to keep you busy today.  That is nice that your boyfriend was able to take off work to come be with you.    :apls:  It is dreary here too. I just wish the sun would peek out, just for an hour.  But, it looks like the forecast says rain, clouds, and WIND for the rest of the week here.   We had our first frost yesterday. Did it frost in Omaha?   

Just try and relax, play some mindless cmputer games or something.   I'm still thinking of you.   Well, I best get back to my exciting accounting homework. I have two tests tomorrow one in accounting and one in economics.  Then I have another econ test on Friday.  And two more tests on Monday.  :crazyeyes:  Can you guess what I get to do all weekend?  Study!!   They are correspondence courses too so that makes it even harder, but I'm actually doing fairly well in them.

Please keep us posted.  Try not to get to worried.  Not sure if you read your bible or anything but if you do Matthew chapter 6 always helps me when I'm worried about something.     :wink:

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone! I got the results back this morning and it looks like I have a viral infection. So there is nothing that they can give to me for it but explains why my counts are off. So now I just have to suffer through. I was pretty sick about a month ago but thought I was done with it. The doctor thinks since my immune system was already strained that I just keep getting it back since I work at the hospital. I guess that makes sense. I am really tired all the time it seems. And the head ache is back. It really confused me at first because I would have good days so I really thought I was over it. I am supposed to be getting plenty of rest and all that but I have to be at work right now so that doesn't really help. Hopefully I can get out of here early today and get home and back to bed!! I really appreciate all your thoughts and rays.

It is still rainy here today, but no frost yet! This gloomy weather is not helping my spirits at all!!  Make sure Porkey doesn't get blown away. High wind advisorys are in effect for the western part of Nebraska. I will be thinking of you as you study. And of course good luck on the tests!! I know you will do great.

I am so glad its not something worse than a viral infection. Although it stinks that you're sick!   I always hate getting sick. I really hope you can gets lots of rest this weekend and that you get over this quickly.   

Thanks for the warning about the high winds.  To be honest, they aren't all that bad.  Well, if you compare it to that last day we had high winds.  Heck, we still have power this time, and we can go outside without getting pelted in the head with the neighbor's lawn furniture.     That's how bad it was last time.   So...we'll take it.  It is making things rather chilly though.  But, its also blowing those clouds out of the way, so every few minutes we get some sunshine!    :meme:  Tomorrow we're back to the clouds and rain though.     Hey, at least its not snowing yet... :xfinger:  You know  Nebraska, one second its 80 degrees, the next its blizzarding.
