Please send your rays and prayers to Poldie.  He is at the vet right now.  Although he has been active and happy and trying to pretend that nothing is wrong, he isn't putting any weight on his back leg at all.  He has a trick hip that gives him trouble once in awhile.  His hip sockets are shallow and sometimes the femur pops out of the socket, but usually pops back in on its own by the time we get him to the vet.  So when we saw him limping last night, we figured that must be it and he would be fine soon.    :badidea:  Wouldn't you know the one time we didn't rush him to the vet would be the one time it didn't get better on its own?  So Kevin called the doctor this morning.  They were fully booked but said to drop him off and they would squeeze him in between appointments when they get the chance, so Kevin got dressed and rushed him over  :ambulance:

So please send your rays to our hurtin' little buddy.  I feel so stupid for not taking him in  :BangHead: It tears me up when he is in pain.

It's OK.  It's good that they can see him now instead of sending you somewhere else!  (That happened with me and Cajsa once and thankfully it turned out to be a good thing.)  Keep us updated on Mr. Poldie!  Rays and Prayers going out for you and your little boy!

Sending mega-rays to Poldie the Oldie.   Poldie seems to always figure a way to pull through.  I'm sure he'll do it again.  He has that very quiet stubborness, not unlike my own Max.

Hopefully Poldie will be feeling up to a Bow Wow in the not-too-distant future.   If Mack comes up to our area later this fall, we'll be able to get the three most senior weiners (Max, Ivan and Poldie) together at one time.

  Sending lots of rays for Poldie - please dont beat yourself up for not taking him to the vet right away, we all know that you love him dearly and would jump if he needed it.  I am confident he will be fine, and I'm so glad your vet squeezed him in!  Please let us know, we will be waiting to hear all is well.  Hugs to mom and dad too.

Hi everybody, thanx for the rayz and good thoughts.  My dad left me at the vet!?!  :doah: They poked and prodded me and took pitchers of my innards but they couldn't find anything wrong. :dontknow:  When dad FINALLY came to spring me,  :headbang: they told him I was pretty feisty for an old man (old man, HMPPF!), :angry7:  and was in real good shape.   The vet thought I probably pulled something and gave me some pills, so I'm doin' better now.  When we got home I got cheese and a regular type treat and lots of lovin :comfort: from my pop until mom got home and I got more. :thumb:  Thanx again,  Poldie

Everyone, thank you for the rays and prayers.  Poldie has been on Rimadyl the last few days.  He still seems a little stiff and is moving slow, but he is moving and putting weight on his leg.  He even trotted a short distance a couple of times, when he was excited about going outside, or excited about coming in to get dinner or treats.   He is happy and eating well.

Gosh, all of your well wishes make me yearn to get home and hug him right now.  Gosh, I love the little guy!

Poor Poldie. I am glad to hear he is doing better though. It's rough when they are under the weather! I think it's sometimes harder on us than them. Give him a big hug for me.
