Every Wednesday morning between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m., without fail, the two monster mowers show up at the school grounds to mow the lawn.  This occurs every Wednesday from April through the second week of October.  Without fail, Sarge and Looie anxiously await the arrival of the monster mowers and the two groundskeepers!  The groundskeepers have gotten to know us and they stop for a few minutes to chat and talk to the puppers!  Our two puppers are very well known to the school groundskeepers and have become poster puppers for them -- we take pictures periodically and then make posters for the guys~~our dogs have adorned the refridgerators at the homes of the groundskeepers as well as in the breakroom of the school district.  The groundskeepers always have a smile on their face and have gotten lots of chuckles from the antics of Sarge and Looie.  Sarge and Looie will run the fence line up and down, back and forth, as the guys go by on the "monster mowers".  Needless to say, they definitely get their workout on Wednesday mornings which after the runs(at least six times) , they spend the morning sleeping.  After all, running the fence line, making sure they mow every blade of grass is hard work!  This has been occurring for many years now -- Sarge was solo on the task until Looie came to live with us two years ago.  Here is the latest poster that Dave did.  The groundskeepers will get them next Wednesday morning........They always check to make sure everything is okay with us.....one morning, Dave stayed in the house, I was outside....the groundskeepers when they stopped asked about Dave -- wanted to make sure that he was okay.  They are the two nicest guys -- and have been mowing the lawn since Sarge came to live with us which was in 1999!  So with that, here's the latest and greatest...........(Notice that Looie has a toy hotdog in his mouth--he runs and barks with that in his mouth.....his favorite toy)......

This is just adorable!  The guys on the mowers clearly love the whole thing!  And to think you are safe from the marauding alien lawnmowers!

Now I can sleep at night! :2funny:

I love the poster! What do they do when school is in session and kids are outside? Do they run up and down the fence line then?  :thumb:

The school has been converted to a Kindegarten Center for the school district.  The entire side field to the school and it's a huge school yard, is not used by the kids.  The kids have a another fenced in area, within the fenced in school yard that is close to the building, that they have their playtime in.  There is a about a two block radius of school yard that is not used by the kids, but the lawn is kept up.  It's a quiet, quiet area unless the monster mowers are out.

Brekke here - Wow - those are the most humongous lawn dragons I have ever seen!  No wonder it takes two officers to do the patrolling.  Good work, guys - and we love your poster!

Having the doxies on mower alert reminds me of a story:

25 years ago I had a beautiful Irish Setter named Rebecca.  I had gotten sick with pneumonia and was home from work.  Becky stayed by my bed, dozing, until she heard the mail man come.  She ran to the living room and put up quite a ruckus.  I dragged myself out of bed and stood at the living room entrance and watched as my mail was flung through the slot piece by piece across the living room floor, while Becky stood at the front door, lunging at the mail slot each time it opened.

Now I understood why my mail was always all over the living room!  We installed a mail box on the outside of the door that weekend!

Great pictures!   Very funny and very cute!   We know what Sarge and Looie would do if they had an RPG launcher!

Way to go boyz!!!  I'm impressed that Louie can go on patrol with his toy.
There's nothing like having a dachshund tongue up your nose at 3 a.m.

Hey Sarge!  Looie!!

Are you guys thinking about a career in the military?  Rangers?  Paratroopers?  You guys would look ace in Green berets.  And the Marines are always looking for a few good men (The three they had retired!)
