Allergy medication - doctor's recommendation

My vet recommended 1 mg of medicine for every pound so Lucy should be getting about 13 mg / day - or 1 children's benadryl.  I've been giving her 2/ day!  She got sick this morning and I bet it's because I've been overmedicating her!  Glad to know there's a "rule" that's easy to follow.
