Berman had another seizure yesterday (Sunday) that lasted about 6 minutes.  I just kept him calm by petting him and talking in a soothing voice like the vet had told me before to do.  I noticed this time, he drooled quite a bit and kept licking his mouth and was trying to turn his head to lick me.  Also, his eyes were watering so much that he had tears rolling down his cheeks.  He never lost control of his bowels like I've read could happen.  He just got real stiff and shook.  Afterwards, he ran around playing and seemed fine.

I'm still not sure I need to take him to the vet.  The vet ran blood work after the 1st seizure and didn't find anything wrong. I really don't want Berman to be on meds if it's not absolutely necessary.

Oh and to make matters worse, Lucy spotted a dog outside and was barking her head off.  So much for trying to maintain a quiet and calming environment!

Oh Man! I'm so sorry that he had another seizure but it sounds like you have done a lot of research and know how to handle it. Is there anything "natural" that can help seziures?

Poor Berman - and poor you !!!  How frustrating not to know why these are happening.  I would give the vet a call - this is the 3rd one, right?  Just let them know and see if they may want to try something else.  You did  a good job mom !

Poor Berman! Maybe another vet would have some other answers.
I totally understand not wanting to medicate him if its not 100% necessary.
I am sorry that you are going through this.   :comfort:

Poor Berman!  It's so difficult to see them going through something like this.  Toby has "Butterfly Catching" seizures where he seems to be hallucinating and trying to chase things that are not there.  He gets horribly upset and I have to pretty much restrain him so that he doesn't run into walls and such.  We have found (with the okay from our Vet of course) that a baby benedryl really helps him to get calmed down.  Of course, I have to catch it as it starts but for some reason he always has these issues around dusk so fortunately I am able to see it happening before he gets into it and get the benedryl into him.
I agree with you on the meds.  We had tried a few with Toby and it didn't help much. After much discussion we decided to go this route as long as we can with him.
Good luck!  I know how hard it is.  You and Berman will be in my prayers.  Let us know what the vet has to say!

I agree don't medicate if you don't need to.  There are some natural ways that are supposed to help with a special diet but I couldn't use that with Zeke because he had the cluster seizures.  Sounds like you handled it very well. Sending  :comfort: to Berman and you.

Sounds like you handled the seizure very well.  Poor baby.  Hope the vet has some answers for you.  Rays coming your way.  Give Berman a smooch for me.
