Boone news!

The other day I was checking ears and noticed one ear had a lot of wax.  I cleaned it, but the next evening it was dirty again and I knew we had a problem.  I took him to the vet yesterday, minor ear infection.  It was just getting started and there was no redness yet, so he'll be fine.  But that isn't the big news.

As I was checking out I set Boone on the floor to the left of me.  After I paid, I looked down and saw he had moved to my right and was being petted by a man in the waiting room.  This is a HUGE leap forward in his social development.   :blob9:He has always cowered and hid from strangers, and this is the first time I have known him to approach a stranger and want attention from one.

The man held to door for me as I carried Boone to the parking lot.  Just then a car pulled up and he said it was time to bring his monsters in.  He opened the car door and brought out a nice, older black lab.  Then the woman who drove brought out a red smooth dachsie.  HMMM, maybe Boone knows a dachsie person when he sees one!

Dachshunds DO know when they are in the presence of another dachshund person.  I've seen it too many times with my guys to know that it's not just a fluke.

YAY!  That IS great news.  Way to go Boone!  Pats on the back to his wonderful parents too for helping to bring him out of his shell.

That is wonderful to hear!  Also glad you were able to catch his ear infection in time.  Belly rubs to him!
