Patches has started pooping in the house she usually comes and starts whining, talking to go out also has Poochie Bells hanging on the backdoor. She pooped on my husbands bed several days ago the day she got the stick stuck in her mouth.Well this morning after she had been out for about 20 minutes its cold 26* so did not have them stay out long.Know Gizmo did not do it she has been laying in the hall where I could see her.Had Buddy out for about 20 minutes but since it was so cold put him in his crate again waiting for it to warm up.Patches hanging around Buddys crate then she went into the other room never asked to go outside. She was acting funny so I got up from the computer and went looking sure enough found the poop, never said a word picked it up & put Patches outside for a little while. Not sure why Patches is pooping in the house guess she will be cooling her paws in the crate allot more till she can be trusted again.Have heard Doxie's are hard to house break guess it is true just not sure how to deal with it.

I can relate!  I have been off work the past ten days, and Willy and Alex have begun pee-ing everywhere all of a sudden.  I have tried three different "no-pee" products and nothing is working.  I don't understand it, and its SO frustrating.  Dan thinks its because they haven't had much time in their pen since I've been home, and they have gotten lazy.  I don't know............but its really souring me on male dogs!  My dogs use pooch pads, but also get to go outside a lot, especially after eating, or if we've been hanging out on the couch watching a movie for a while.  I try to anticipate when they might have to go.  Sorry, I don't have any advice, I am just as stumped as you are with Patches.

Patty In AK well I was wondering if the little beaver brat just did not want to go back out because it was cold outside??? I used the pee pads also with Gizmo until we got new carpet then put her a diaper on at night. Since I have two diapers Patches my find herself in the other one I have for Gizmo,Gizmo has such a heavy coat I had to go with a bigger diaper for her so it would fit Patches. Did you know they make Belly Bands for boy dogs you may resort to that for Willy & Alex that might surprise them I have been letting the girls out more frequently in the day time because of Gizmo's age. They say when dogs that are house broken start back sliding for what ever reason just start over as if they were puppies???
Patches & Buddy are on Canidae All Life Stages dog food so at least the poop Patches left was firm did not mess my new carpet up I just picked her up took her outside & left her for about 20 minutes.
Have you thought to check the boys Willy 7 Alex for a bladder infection know when Gizmo was going more took her to the vet and he had her on a anti biotic she quit going as much still feel better with a diaper on her.

We have only had one that is a grrrrrrrrrr. Amy, as long as we are in she goes out day, night, rain, cold. This only started when I went back to full time in March. On Monday and Tuesday you come home to a unused piddle pad, but then the rest of the week she is naughty. She even goes on command...............we have put it down to she is very clingy to me and is a bit of a mamma's girl and does not like going out alone when we are not here, as I think Oliver goes out only when he needs.
So I just scratch my head. We can go into friends and she will come and let you know she wants to go out .

Do you go out with patches, as training we never came in till they went.

Yes I house train the show dog way when they are puppies I put a 6 ft. lead on them and go out with them I may have to resort to doing that again with Patches. Just to make sure of what she is doing when she goes out she was much older pup when I got her 16 weeks but then seemed like it took forever to get her house trained. Big Dogs much easier to train wonder why that is always had big dogs before Gizmo.Gizmo came from a puppy mill type situation so think that is why it does not bother her to go in the house.I have read Culture Clash it was some what over my head it was a good book she believes dogs do not do things if they are mad at you but I'm not sure if I agree 100% on that.I do know dogs read your body language very well so if you are the least bit upset with something the dog has done they act guilty???Just do not know sometimes.

Boy, I wish my Mom could read these posts! Her little doxie, Buddy poops in the house frequently. She will take him out in the backyard and let him run all over. He will pee and run around more and act like he doesn't have to poo...then not five min. after coming in he poos on the floor.
Another thing he does that is really frustrating...when my brother comes over Mom puts Buddy in her bedroom and shuts the door b/c he doesn't like my brother and acts like a 'big ninny' as mom puts it. So it's just easier to put him away for the short time Phil is there. After he is gone Mom will let Buddy out of her room and he runs all over the house sniffing. When he finds a place where Phil has stood he poops there! Every single time! It's bad if he's been in many places throughout the house b/c Mom has to go around and pick up poo. Last week she said she really paid attention to where Phil was in the house and sure enough...every single place he stood...poo!!!
So far Phil is the only one he reacts to like that...but I think he knows that Phil doesn't like him!!! "I'll show you Mr....take that!!!"
I feel real blessed since Piddleman didn't do that!!! Thanks Pdog!!
Some day I hope to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am!!

Years ago when I had my first doxie, Christopher, he was my judge of character.  If Chris didn't like a particular boyfriend, he would take a big dump right in the middle of the living room in front of me to let me know he disapproved.  LOL!!!

Yeah...I think in some ways that is what is going on here. My brother is a total cat person...has no use for dogs, which is wierd since he was raised with a dog always in the house. He has told Mom that he doesn't like Buddy and I'm sure Buddy picks up those vibes!! I've given up on trying to get Phil to see that if he would change his attitude about Buddy it would really make a big difference. I'll have to share your story w/ Mom...it will make her laugh!!
