The last few weeks....

have been exciting! It all started with a call from my husband telling me that some people he had done some carpentry work for had a little smooth red boy named Shaggy who they "didn't want any more". Uuugghhhh.....  I just don't get that!
He is about two years old and just as sweet as can be.  We think that he had been marking his territory in the house and they didn't like it.  They had made arrangements to have him neutered, finally, but still didn't want him.  We decided to bring him home with us and try to find a forever home for him.  It didn't take long as a friend of ours had lost her beloved pupper a few months ago and just fell in love with little Shaggy. 
It was a pretty difficult decision NOT to keep him and was based primarily on Toby's well being.  I was concerned that another in the mix might not be great for him.  He has been doing so well socially that I was afraid he might regress. 
So Shaggy went to his forever home where he is living the good life!  :)
Surprisingly,for the few days that Shaggy was with my three they all did really great!  No aggression from Toby at all.  I was really enjoying having the four of them and was kind of sad when he left...although knowing his new hoomom made it easier!
On Saturday morning I got a call from a friend of mine who told me that her neighbor had a litter of four long haired girls that needed good homes.  They had found homes for three of the four.  So...... we talked about it and decided to go and see them...if for no other reason than it is great fun to look at puppies! For whatever reason, they had decided to breed there two one time....and this was the result.
Well needless to say, this little girl just stole my heart!  She is a very light red...almost blonde long  hair with chocolate markings.  She is only five weeks old and simply gorgeous!  So....we came home and discussed it and discussed it some more and....
decided that two boys and two girls is just PERFECT  for us!
Her name is Beatrice and I will be posting pics after I go to visit her this weekend.  She will be with her mama for a few more weeks.  I'm going to take a few days off from work when she comes home. 
Yippee!  A new addition to my family and the board!

That's great news!  Congratulations on your soon-to-be new addition.  Now everything is all evened out -- two boys and two grrrrls!  That is good news that Toby did so well with Shaggy while you had him.  I hope he will be ok with Beatrice.  He'll be a good protective big brother.

Boy, is the Dog-a-pult working overtime!!! It will be so fun having a couple of puppies on the board to watch grow up and to hear about all the mischief they get into. Beatrice and Emmylou will provide us with lots of stories, I'm sure.
I have a feeling Toby will be fine with the puppy. Since she is so small, he may decide to be her protector and make her his "baby". It could be an interesting relationship to watch develop! Can't wait to see the pictures!

Wow that is exciting stuff! I can't wait to see that new longhaired baby! And what a great story ending for Shaggy! I hope Toby will be fine with Beatrice too, being a baby should help! You are going to have constant entertainment with four lil peanuts running around LOL. Can't wait for the pictures!!! Congrats!

Yes that dogapult really is working overtime. I am heading for cover, I don't want that thing aimed my way LOL!!!

Wow!  Beatrice sounds like the perfect li'l grrrl.  I bet Toby will LOVE her!  The Dogapault is in FINE form these days.

Woohoo!  Puppy power!   (I guess you can tell that I like Scooby-Do and Scrappy-Do?)  What fun having Beatrice with your three when she is a bit older and more socialized!
