Porky here:  Today something scary is happening.  Momma and I were walking and then all of sudden the wind comed up real bad and then we smelled something funny in the air.  I only smell that smell when we have a campfire.  Momma looked worried and ran me back into the house, cause I was coughing.   Just as we got in the door we saw it get real hazy outside and our house started stinking too.

Momma called the fire department to ask where the fire was and they told her.  "Oh don't worry  that smoke is just coming in from the fires in Chadron and Harrison."  :doah: Which are about 90 miles north of us.  Momma didn't believe them since the smoke is so bad.  Then, we went riding with grandma to see if we could see a fire close by.  I was laying on momma's lap and then I heard a real loud noise.  And the thing I saw looked like this >>> :ambulance:!    So...I guess there is a fire somewhere near us.  Momma has towels to block the door, but smoke is still coming in from our woodstove and airconditioners.  What can she do so I can breathe better?  Also she has bad allergies to smoke and stuff so she is wearing a funny thing on her face.  But, she says its still making her cough and hard to breathe.  What else should we do to block out the smoke???

I'm getting real scared cause of the funny smell.   And I cant stop running around the house.  :runaway: I eben hid under the bed for a while.  But, then I decided to get brave and bark at the door, :cussing:  but it didnt make that bad smoke go away.

Porky baby boy, try not to be scared.  Your mommy will make sure you're safe and sound.  Please keep us updated.  We want to see all those  :ambulance: go away.

All the smoke is now gone.  I'm not sure if that means they got the fire out or if the wind moved it the other direction from our home.  I was able to calm Porky down by taking him to the big bed and letting him hide under the covers. Right now his worst worry is not getting any of the chips and salsa I'm eating, :2funny:

Please send rays for those north of us.  Houses have been lost and it almost burned down the college there!
