We came out okay, as our house on the rim of the bowl that is Perkasie/Sellersville.  I heard helicopters early this morning and found out later they had to air-lift people out of harm's way.  They also had to get people outta town by boat.  We had 2 inches of rain overnight on top of the 7 or 9 we have gotten in the past two weeks.  It's sunny now, but they are calling for more wet stuff.  Locals say this is the worst flooding any of them have ever seen--and some of our locals are older than dirt.

The D.C. area really got clobbered.  My house is okay...all of us are okay, although at one point there was only one way to get to "civilization" as all the other roads were cut by high water.  My commutes became 50% longer in length and 100% longer in time trying to navigate through the closed roads.

However, we are all still on pins and needles with the Lake Needwood dam.   I work nearby and use the roads that have been closed below the dam.   It's been a complete traffic nightmare.  A couple of thousand of people have been evacuated.   If the dam bursts, many sections downstream will be under 19 feet of water.

I've been going to Lake Needwood since I was a teenager.   I was able to ride my bike there.  Margie and I would frequent Lake Needwood with Rudy, Max, Rusty & Scally.  We took Jessica there a few times, too.  We're hoping that the water level goes down in the lake below the breach so people can return home and they re-open the roads.

This has been the worst flooding our area experienced...bar none...

Leslie/David,

Will be saying prayers throughout the day for you, that things will turn out OK.  I remember the Iowa floods on 1993, and although our house was not affected, it was still a trying time.
