Happy Administrative Professional's Day !!!! (And a question on colds)

What's the best kind of lunch?  A FREE one, of course.  I'm getting taken out to lunch today for Administrative Professionals Day, and wouldn't you know; my springtime cold has progressed to the point where I cannot smell or taste anything!!!

I did go to an immediate-care clinic Saturday.  The Strep test was negative, and I don't have the mumps.  If you haven't heard, Iowa has over 1,000 reported cases of mumps - a strain that can strike even if one has had the MMR vaccines.  The doctor (I have an iron skilled older than her) and I agreed that antibiotics would not do any good, so I've been using over-the-counter stuff to try to get over this cold.

I was so desperate this morning that I took half-a-dose of a popular night-time cold medicine (I didn't have the daytime equivalent).  Hopefully, a half-dose won't make me too loopy!

I've been very careful to wash my hands BEFORE feeding and handling Ozzy.  Can dogs catch colds from humans?

Happy Admin Proff Day to you !!!  Bummer that you won't get to enjoy your lunch as much as you should - maybe the medicine will kick in for the lunch hour and you will at least be able to taste the food !!!

I am not sure whether dogs can catch the cold germ or not ?????

So sorry to hear you are sick!  Hopefully your meds will kick in before lunchtime and you will be able to taste your food!  Maybe having the afternoon off after lunch would be an even better thing?  Couldn't hurt to ask!  lol

Hope you feel better.  Drink lots of hot tea with honey to soothe your throat and loosen your sinuses.  Snuggle up with Ozzy when you get home and just sleep!

My boss walked in and I said, "Good Morning," as usual.  He looked at me and said, "The way you sound tells me you cannot taste anything.  Let's move lunch to Friday, so you can get well."

So, lunch is on Friday, and I made an appointment with my doctor for tomorrow morning.  The way things feel right now, I've got a sinus infection.  I should know by now that a sore throat is a prelude to a sinus infection for me.

April, I'm definitely going to snuggle up with Ozzy tonight and drink lots of hot tea.

And, I'm glad I cannot pass anything on to Ozzy, just holding him makes me feel better.

I was going to say I too went to lunch but I guess I sould say I was taken to lunch (along with my two cousins - they work with me one above and one took my old job I love working with family sooo much easier!) The boss man took us and our Project Managers out to lunch today to The Brig (The Brigantine - sp?)  we also got cards yesterday and on Monday we all (just us girls) got the coolest necklace/bracelet thingy that our Bossman brought back from Hawaii (I know it has to have been expensive b/c it has about 40 pearls - real ones, and those magnetic stones & Blue swavorski crystals and little silver beads) very pretty I wear mine as a bracelet I cant stand things on my neck other than a Doxie of course 

Again, I hope you feel better for your Lunch on Friday, we are sending you San Diego rays for a quick recovery. Chicken noodle (not store bought) soup and lots of tea with honey, and if I still worked at the resturant (or if I could remember) the cooks would make a mixture of honey and lime and soak red onions in it (I think not 100% sure)  and take a Tbs of that but I dont know if that is the right mixture i think i am missing something. Anyway, Chicken noodle soup and Hot trea with Lemon & honey and LOTS of Ozzy snuggles
