One month after being diagnosed with Type II diabetes, I returned for a check-up yesterday.  I've lost 8 pounds, and my blood sugars are ranging between 113 and 160.  Doctor said that anything below 200 is good, especially for someone who is using only diet and exercise to control blood sugars.

I'm such a weenie, though - I absolutely hate having to test my blood twice a day.  That darn lancet hurts!!!

Still, I have to admit, I haven't felt this good in quite a while.  My heartburn has virtually disappeared and my blood pressures are down as well.

I'm glad to hear that.  My grandmother is diabetic and she was supposed to be controling it with diet for many years, but didn't.  She's having many troubles now as a result.  That has made me be very aware of what I eat and how it affects me.  Elf is getting virtually no sugar (except for fruit as snacks) and the occasional bite of ice cream. So I'm hoping she won't have issues with blood sugar in her future.
I have a book of natural remedies/treatments and diabetes is one of the conditions in it.  If you'd like I could post the information in case you'd like to look for it at the library or something.  I know two of the "7 super prescriptions" they list are cinnamin extract and a well balanced multi vitamin.   I can't think of the others right off hand, but they seemed to be pretty reasonable.
