Loki here:  mom gabe ME da snowman stuffie. HMMMPHF!  I can't help it if I went into da kitchen to help dad cook and Zuzu STOLE it! When I cam back, she growled at me and I barked and barked for her to let IT GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!  But she wouldn't.  Den momma sed: "Dis is gonna turn into a shootin' war." Whateber dat means.  But den Zuzu stopped growlin' and barked at me and I barked and she barked and then I dunno what happened but dere I was, biting mommy while daddy picked up de Zu-dog.
Den we boff had to go in our crates and da snowman stuffie went away.
I gabe mommy a kiss and Zuzu gabe mommy a kiss and we licked the ice on her hand.  :comfort:  She sed she wasn't mad, dat we are dogs, but we are sowwy anyway.

Les here:  I saw it escalate and wasn't able to intervene soon enough even though I was on the floor with Zuzu.  While Loki was biting me I didn't shout, 'cause I knew that would make it worse.  but OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!  Ow ow ow!  THREE puncture wounds and a nasty hematoma!

Oh no!!!!  Sorry to hear this, Les.  Y'know, they lash out and then forget all about it and want kisses.  Dolly bit me once (well, waddya expect?  The vet was stickin' a thermometer up her rump....Dolls was NOT amused).  And straight away afterwards, it was as if she KNEW she had crossed the line and was kissy kissy and oh, so sorry.  I sure hope your fingers are okay.  I'm sure Loki is very very sorry. :comfort:

Oh dear.  Ouch!  I got in the middle of Willy and Alex once, and got a puncture wound on my finger.  I couldn't tell which one did it, but the very next day they both went to the vet to be fixed.  They were 6 months old.  Every once in a while they will do this "posturing" thing, a sort of stare-down.  Willy usually starts it and Alex, who is usually gentle, won't back down.  So we separate them before it goes too far.  But sometimes there's no warning.  A glass of cold water breaks things up pretty quickly.
Take care of that hand!

Hope your hand is feeling better today.......I have been nipped twice by Rudy.......every once in a while Brandy rubs him the wrong way and instead of relenting - he stands his ground.  OR when he gets macho and tries to tell any doglet visitors that he is in CHARGE !!!!   He is mellowing in his old age - and when there may be a scuffle (sp?) between my two - I can usually tell and will separate them quickly.

Take care - It is always so cute afterwards - they are SO sorry.....

Bridget hasn't bitten me, but once in a while when we're playing rough, she'll get a little rougher than normal.  If I say, in a normal tone, ouch, she's all over with the kissies.  And people say they don't understand.

Same thing here.  When it happens Zuzu is usually the agressor.  Loki tells her to do something and Zuzu stands her ground.  And it's usually Zu that won't back down  the little booger.  We had two of those toys, but one got ripped apart.  Zuzu didn't want the stuffed bunny, duck, beaver or doggie, she wanted the snowman!!!!!!!!!!  This is why they only get stuffies when I can supervise.

I used to have a couple of boys that would periodically get into it.  Usually because one surprised the other while eating or chewing up a favorite toy.  One day during a fight one went down.  This was in the 70s and I only had access to a country vet so I had no clue about proper treatment.  Fortunately with steroid injections he got back to nearly normal in six weeks. But ever since then when I hear about two doxies getting into it my first fear is for their backs.  Thank goodness Zu and Loki are ok.  Glad to hear that your own involvement wasn't more serious.  Myself, I'd take a bite any day to keep the kids from hurting each other.  We're a strange bunch we dachshund people.  :idiot:
