The Norfolk Botanical Garden has an Eagle Cam. The same pair have produced several broods and did not let their public down this year. This year there are three eggs. The first eaglet hatched yesterday and as of now a second egg has been pipped. There should be an eaglet from it within the next 24 hours. The camera they have is the highest quality of any I have seen, and the biologists on staff are excellent at asking questions. There is a link on the page to a couple of blogs they are keeping that have some great information about the eagles. I'm amazed at how much I have learned. Last year I found out about it when the eaglets were a couple of weeks old. This year I've been following since the camera went live.
My one warning-it is addictive!!

Below is a picture of the mom giving the chick it's first bit of moisture. Today it had it's first of many feedings of fish.

totally addicted to them, we have sea and wedge tails and in our place if you hear "Oh my God" repeated  and someone running, get out the way, I'm getting to the camera. Our house is called Duntar, but we should havecalled it eagle brae as they fly the thermals daily. Some days really close and that is ususallyt heb day I have not got he big zoom on.
The other week we, monsters and I were going to my work room, and whhoooosh between the house and workrooms, it looked like a junior one doing a look see and must have decided "to big".

I have always said that if I lived there I wouldn't get anything done for taking pictures. If you have eagles, I have no doubt I would get nothing done!!
Here is the latest picture of the eagles. It's amazing how much they have grown. The oldest is 8 days old. The youngest is 5.

There was a juvenile bald eagle flying around Black Hill Regional Park in Boyds, Maryland.  I was riding there and saw the eagle.  I was just utterly awe-struck and just stared at the eagle flying around for a while.

There is also the famous "George and Martha" that live by the Wilson Bridge in Alexandria, Virginia.  I actually saw "George" flying along the river.  Truly spectacular.

Those are just awesome photos and news, they are great achievements already. I remember our school field trip in a botanical garden and it's so great to see that along caring the environment, the animals are living freely like in the wild.
