We Got To Go For A Walk With Our Auntie Toddie!

Sandi:  Mark and I are heading on a short vacation to Ohio at the end of Oct.  My friend, Toddie, is going to stay with the girls while we're gone. She grew up with dachsies.  Anyway, she stopped by today on her lunch break (she does art work for Trader Joes) and got a little acquainted with the Hooligans.  She asked if she could walk them and this is how it went, according to the girls.

Maddie:  Ooooh, we get our jinglies on!  Oooh, dat means either a goferaride or a walkie.  Whoops, who is this person putting on my collar?  I don't know here.  I'm gonna play hard to get.  The stranger is holding me now and taking me down da steps.  Aren't you coming mommy?  Mommy?????  Well, maybe this might not be so bad.  After all, a walkie IS a walkie and there's always lots to smell on walkies.  OK, I'll go but I don't want the "stranger" to touch me.

Dolly:  Oh dear.  Oh my.  I'm not liking this.  I'd much rather lounge around on the couch than get some exercise.  'Sides, what if sumptin happens like we meet up with a...a.....DAWG?  I'm scared, but I do like this new person.  She gives me belly rubs and I do love a good belly rub.  She's very nice and I lick her a lot.  But this walk thing, I don't know about that.  That's it.  I ain't goin'.  I'm stopping right here and now.    What?  She's picking me up and carrying me?  Ha!  I bet I is pretty heavy.  Ha!  She'll bring me back to my mommy.  Wait.....She's taking me further away.....MOMMY!!!!!  Oh, can't see the house no more.  Oh.  Maybe this isn't so bad after all.

Sandi:  Toddie is so good with the girls and doesn't let them buffalo her.  Maddie will take a while to warm up, I'm afraid,  but they'll be good buddies in a day or two, I'm sure.  Dolly loves her and just snuggles right up to her for rubs.  It was pretty funny watching them on their walk before they were out of sight.  Maddie trotting along and Toddie CARRYING the 19 pound Dollikers.  I mentioned when they got back that not only did they get a walk, but Auntie Toddie got some weight lifting in too!

Oh what big brave girls you are!  Taking your Auntie for a walk like that!  Sure sounds like she is awfully nice!  Does she give TREATS to?   :apls: :apls: :apls: :apls:

Thats wonderful that you have a friend to stay with the girls.....you will have a much better vacation knowing they are well taken care of !!!!
