Hi,

What a blast we had at the Browning homestead over the holidays. Melanie and I celebrated our first Christmas together with the help of her family -- mom, dad, sister and brother. Oh, and in addition to our nine furkids and two fosters, Melanie's parents brought along their seven dogs for a total of 18 in the house!

Trying to get them all together for one photo proved to be an impossible task, but we managed to get this photo of Melanie's mom Celine working in the kitchen and catching a lot of attention.

Clockwise, starting from the bottom right corner:

Daisy, the black and tan longhair doxie -- Recently adopted from Florida Dachshund Rescue by Melanie's mom Cecile.

Beanie, the other black and tan longhair doxie -- another of Cecile's doxies.

Celine, the gorgeous tri-color basset hound, a foster of Melanie's through Basset Hound Rescue of Alabama.

Tootsie, one of our black and tan doxies (in the bottom left corner), a rescue from a shelter in Pensacola

Lily, one of our basset hounds (the brown and white), a rescue from a shelter in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Willy -- you all know him, our red piebald doxie.

Cecile -- Melanie's mom

Mojo -- handsome red smooth doxie -- one of our fosters through Florida Dachshund Rescue.

Hannah -- Another familiar face, my chocolate and tan dapple. Can you believe she'll be 10 years old next month?

Willie -- Another black and tan smooth boy, son of Tootsie and also a rescue from the Pensacola shelter.

Bubba -- My in-laws' springer spaniel.

Don't know where the other eight were -- getting into trouble, no doubt.

Wow Mack! I love the picture - you had quite the full house. I can't imagine that many animals under one roof. Did they all get along? Sounds like you had a wonderful first Christmas with Melanie. Love to see more pictures if you have any...

I'm trying to figure out two things-1. How you ever managed to keep all the names straight, and 2. How Cecile could move around in the kitchen and not trip over someone! I come close to tripping over Schatzi all the time and she is just ONE doxie! I'm glad you had a wonderful first Christmas together. Next year will be even more exciting when a new baby is in the mix!

What a wonderful first Christmas together.  I cannot imagine what feeding time was like.  The picture is great!  I just love those basset butts.  Bless your hearts for sharing your home with so many furkids.

If they ever want to re-film that Sprint Dachshund / Oxen commerical again, all they have to do is go to the Browning home.  LOL!  Wow!   There's so many dogs in the picture, you'd think it was done with photoshop.

The most we ever had here was 15 dachshunds at a Bow-Wow.  It was like watching fish in a tank.  There were so many circulating that they would form brief "packs" and then move along.

How's our Senior Weiner Ivan doing?

Yep, we're starting to see the little two-legger make his/her presence known. In fact, we have a very important doctor appt. this Wednesday. An ultrasound will tell us whether we have a boy or girl.

Ivan is holding his own. He's been on Anipryl for about 5 weeks now, plus Proen for the incontinence. It seems to be helping a little. But on the other hand, the weather is so nice and pleasant right now, he can stay outside a lot during the day. He seems to love just sitting on his blankie in the sun.
